Now that we stopped Mage Boosts, let's stop Raid Boosts aka GDKP

“Boosting” is a form of cheating whereby high-skilled players access lower-skilled players’ for the purpose of increasing the power or rank of the player for monetary gain .

GDKP by definition is literal boosting.

You are taking players who have gear and skill and knowledge, pairing them with either an undergeared alt/RMT buyer/etc and essentially taking their gold to provide them an in-game advantage by skipping the normal gameplay grind that Blizzard intended.

This idea of people buying gold will never stop because it exists in every single MMO, but GDKPs enable the gold buying by giving them the perfect place to spend that gold and acquire power/gear that they could never get on their own.

Now that Mage Boosting is stopped, we need to stop Raid Boosting by taking a look at GDKPs and the danger they pose to our Classic Community.

I got a better idea. Let’s stop the retail sockpuppets from making threads on our forum.

Imagine thinking anyone that doesn’t support RMT and Raid Boosting is some type of alt lol

Instead of mage boosts people will just go back to paying someone to level their character for them.
Nothing will change, the demand doesn’t just go away

Weren’t you just calling for people to not let pure buyers in on the cut because they are customers and you want to profit off the player base?

Did you forget to swap to a different character?

I have noticed lately that there is a lot less boost and GDKP spam in LookingForGroup chat and it’s a welcome change! To be able to look for a group or find someone to add to your group is so much easier without having to scroll back only to miss an opportunity due to the constant, steady stream of gold seller spam.

Out of curiosity after participating in some of the GDKP related threads on this forum, I joined a GDKP that a guildy was involved with. To see how much gold the the carried players are dishing out is really ridiculous when I consider how much gold most raiders have, practically speaking!! I usually only average about 250 to 1500 gold which is much higher than I averaged during original BC. That said, I was shocked to see the same players throwing down 4.5k and 6k gold on every roll for a total pot of 60k. To be clear, the 60k only came from two players. How does a raider on an alt or a player who doesn’t have the skill/gear to complete on their own come up with that kind of gold without actually buying it in RMT?

You just got off a 7 day suspension from the forums because you create endless threads all day long… and immediately return to the exact same behavior.

My lord.

Sure lets go back to the glory days of only having pugs that are inferior to guilds and the moment you kill a boss you have 5 people leave.

lets not forget the leader not hardressing any items so they can just ninjaloot the final boss loot altogether like back in the day. What a nice idea to have the game run by casuals.

If anything, removing gdkps will kill pugging raids more than anything.

I’d focus more on banning people who buy gold rather than a total legit way to raid that makes you go home happy you actually got something when you exit the raid without loot unlike most other pug runs, and gives you a reason to run it if you don’t need anything at all.

And what the poster above said… never saw anyone leave before the end in a GDKP. Just wait for Trial of the Crusader to see all pugs collapse after 2nd boss when the Solace didn’t drop.

Takes 2 weeks maximum for me to farm 6k gold doing the base min on 4 toons. You basically get 5k just doing all the quests in outlands while levelling.

Just because gold farming is hard for some doesnt mean its hard for all. You have to try harder to not make 6k honestly

OP is right. GDKPs are boosting and facilitate RMT and are a huge reason RMT exists. Just ban GDKPs.

Sorry, but even with 5000gold you are on the lower end this time into the expansion. Even 10k is not much but that is probably what the average player has.

We literally had to pay 600g+ a raid night for sunwell the first 4 weeks and somehow its shocking that people have more gold now than back in the original.

In my opinion there was never a “people had less gold back then” time. You just didnt have gdkps here until wotlk and therefore you would never know someones goldcount back then.

Or how about stop policing how other players play the game? If you don’t like GDKPs, form your own soft reserve or MS>OS raid. Stop complaining about being broke and just play the game.
