That’s news to me. Balance druids had a moving eclipse bar in combat. That’s complete? Sounds like the worst game design ever.
So two new areas where at least one of them is going to be more free form grinding island isn’t a major change? The introduction to the Essences which might fundamentally changed some of the boring classes isn’t a major change?
Yea… Except demo where they nerfed it into the ground because they didnt want people playing it… Only to turn it onto perhaps the worst spec ever in legion.
Atleast they had unique design. You could play BFA and have all classes play the same.
Having a class feel complete and dmg tuning isn’t the same. As for Legion, that wasn’t really in the discussion. I don’t agree with Legion designs mainly because it focused on the artifact weapon, but atleast they tried to make something unique/different out of classes. But they just removed a bit too much from some classes, which leave us at bfa. No uniqueness from artifact, no uniqueness from class rotation without artifact, no unique utilities from a lot of classes because of Legion that removed them, weird gcd, etc.
For WoD I would say that then endgame was a tragedy, but the leveling story and cinematics was awesome.
BFA was a perfect storm of every bad decision and false assumption they based their plan on and it all fell apart.
I’m glad it happened though. I hope this signals a hard turn away from they way they have treated the IP and the players and a return to the Vanilla<->WoTLK game play that made them in the first place.
These rose tinted goggles about WoD weird me out. I get that PVP was in a better spot, but for PVE? Do people not recall that by the time Tanaan came out, hunting for Rares in Tanaan felt like a deluge of content compared to the 1 Apexis Crystal daily from the table?
WoD was the expansion where I got a ton of alts from level 1 to cap and farmed for transmog and most of my mounts. I played a ton during WoD…a ton of previous content.
Don’t you feel that BFA is the same. They didn’t release their “tanaan jungle” on launch, we’re getting actual good world content only in 8.2 .
Atleat legion had some endgame at the start with the nightborns questlines/wqs etc.
While for me Legion >>>>BfA, the War Campaign and the dungeons are leaps and bounds better than the Legendary Ring chain or the WoD dungeons (I know some people like them, but outside of Spires and Shadowmoon…we’re getting TW soon I think, people will remember what a tragic shirtshow Everbloom and Grimrail were)
I didn’t really like the war campain, don’t really have any love for Sylvanas or Nathanos. And I think wod dungeons are better than BFA ones, those are a bit boring for me and have too much trash and bosses aren’t that exciting. For sure M+ didn’t exist in WoD and that’s truly for me the only problem. The WoD legendary ring was a joke by the end but atleast it wasn’t on the rng level of legendaries acquisition in Legion or as bad as titanforging.
Not for me. I barely played Draenor. Got a good 10 months out of BFA before needing a break. Played Legion and Wrath pretty much the entire expansion.
So it’s definitely not the worst for me. There are some things I like about BFA.
Yeah. I have to disagree right here.
No. WoD had no content. BFA has had some. BFA is therefore a better expansion.
Absolutely not. Quite the opposite IMHO.
Warmode was a god-send and I love the equality WoW has had for its PvP to PvE communities.
About time for this game to be buried.
I’ll probably sound like a broken record, but for me, yes, so far it’s much worse. Simply because of the scummy practices.
RNG that isn’t RNG, but instead a slap in the face by nearly everyone getting tons of the same slot drops in a row that is their best or 2nd best already. Too many people have reported this for it to be simply RNG happening. It’s a time gated loot system designed to keep their core player base on a loot treadmill and is dishonest.
PVE gear being required for competitive PVP. Dropping OP items into raids that are required for higher level rated (Non-tournament) play.
Faction balancing. Too many Horde, not enough Alliance? No problem, let’s give them the almighty Zandalari Trolls and a super strong racial and give the Alliance the obese Kul Tirans… oh… wait…
Record profit year! Awesome! Let’s fire half our quality control staff in the middle of a hugely buggy game experience, due to not needing them…yet hiring back those positions to subcontractors that probably don’t know, nor care about the game and will receive no employment benefits. Because money is tight, yo!
I could keep going, but you get the point.
Actually you mean an expansion that was gutted but for what they did give for open world and raids was actually pretty good.
The ring quest was fine as well as it’s predecessor (cloak quest from MoP). Those legendaries felt more rewarding then any of the ones from Legion. As for the dungeons the BfA dungeons are more sprawling and the trash from them are more of a p.i.t.a. then any thing WoD had.
Actually SoO had a longer time between it’s release and the release of WoD. Another thing is all final raids in an expansion since ICC have lasted anywhere from 10 to 15 months before the next expansion was released.
They weren’t any worse then what you get from the ships at Dazar’alor and Boralus. Garrison even had a table where you could pick up missions you could do yourself. Wait you had to grind to get something out of the game , so no allied races I take it .
Not like Ship table , Island expeditions and War fronts are any more exciting.
Respectfully suggest you and the others complaining about WoW expansions develop a lengthier attention span. They’ve all been great, with very detailed environments (BfA is astonishingly well done), very smooth gameplay, and tons to do. If BfA is somehow boring you, go revisit the rest of Azeroth and get some new mounts.
WoD, Legion, and BfA were/are loaded with stuff. I have eight characters to develop (six so far at 120), lots of mounts I still haven’t gotten, Pathfinder II to get through when it opens up, new raids to see when they come out, professions to develop, exploring, harvesting, quests, etc. Our gear will probably top out in the 500 range by the end of the expansion, and we’re nowhere near that yet.
Don’t complain to Blizzard if you can’t figure out something to do. There’s a huge gameworld filled with stuff. Should they hold your hand and lead you around? (Too many already complain that WoW herds them in various ways.)
The rest of us who aren’t complaining are finding things to do. You can too. Sheesh.
BFA sucks so way more then WOD there will be no winner in BFA and the old gods have been so over done its not even cool i miss Legion
At the end of the day is fine to have a preference between WoD or BFA. But that doesn’t make WoD or BFA better.
My class personnaly dks, got completly wrecked with Legion. Removal of presences, removal of main movement abilities, removal of the rune system (what we got now is just an energy bar), removal of controlling your rune regen (bloodtap), removal of being able to play 2h frost. That’s just Legion, BFA did another reworking pass of the sort. Which leaves us with something that’s barely an original dk from wrath. We’re more like a meme version of ourselves. wraith walk is based on King Leoric in Diablo, one of our trait is a fiery link between us and our pet also based on Diablo. Unholy doesn’t even have gargoyle baseline, and they can’t even spread their diseases with bloodboil like they use to be able. Now you have to apply it to a mob and hope it spread to other mobs, damnit if that mob box is too big so it won’t spread.
But the dust hasn’t settled, we still have 8.2 and more to come so until it is over no one can say BfA was worse than anything.
Sure. But I was disagreeing with the statement that all classes play the same.
