I read the dialogue. I just understood it as he exploded due to an overload of both magics, not because both would explode on contact, otherwise he would’ve inmediately go boom the very second he goes into that phase. Though it can be said the other way as well.
In the case of managing both magics together, that’s what Arcane tattoos are for. Though I’m not advocating for VE DHs. I think it would feel strange. Why would a Void Elf even want to be a DH?
In the case it does something and is not compatible, it would mean Void Elf locks are affliction only in lore and nothing else, though.
Becoming a demon hunter is a horrific process that is more than likely to kill a person and even if successful will leave them in eternal torment. That isn’t a great recruitment pitch after you’ve defeated the enemy who you hated enough to actually take those chances / make those sacrifices.
Just face it, there is no reason for the creation of new DHs at this time. Maybe if the story evolves in the future to be demon centric again, but it is very obvious that “now is the time” is not in any way true.
And? That really doesn’t mean there can’t be more Demon Hunters being recruited. I think honestly that you’re just making excuses at this point. Lore wise the Burning Legion is still a threat, lore-wise the Demon Hunters have to keep hunting demons and they have the means to do so, so that’s what they’re doing. There’s no reason why Blizzard can’t enable more races to become Demon Hunters.
No, it isn’t. The “Burning Legion” was the name given to the army raised by Sargeras. It does not encompass all of demonkind, and they are not an innate threat simply by existing. I feel like theres a good allegory here with the view many people have about global politics in the real world.
Yes it is. The Burning Legion didn’t just bugger off and leave town. They still exist. Do you know what happens when a leader is removed from a position of power in the way Sargeras was? There’s usually a massive void to fill, and so, what’s likely happening right now is that demons and their forces are fighting amongst themselves to determine who will lead the Legion. (I’d have said one of the Dreadlords, but as we know they’re not really Demons and are not loyal to the Legion)
Saying the Burning Legion isn’t a threat anymore because Sargeras is gone is like saying the Scourge is no longer a threat because the Lich King is gone. It’s still a threat. It always will be a threat until its completely wiped out. New leaders will attempt to take control and once they have it, you can bet they’re going to once again turn their attention to the one planet that keeps screwing up their conquest plans.
Which says absolutely nothing for whatever forces are in the cosmic plane of disorder that may be looking at us and making their own plans to wipe us all out.
They could add the Broken as an Alliance allied race. They make sense as demon hunters since Broken, like Akama, did join and fight alongside the Illidari.
