Because affliction is a spec dedicated to dealing with shadow magic.
So, I would have to say:
Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it!
You fundamentally do not understand the difference between wielding magic and infusing it into an essence.
The person with whom you’ve been speaking has made it very clear. You’re either incapable of reading what other people type or you’re willfully refusing to understand.
Are we really going to use lore as an argument for this game? Have you played this game recently?
Zandalari Demoniacs.
The crazy troll warlocks that were summoning demons into their own bodies and enslaving them from within for power. Literally demon hunters. Blizzard Plz.
Xhul’horac
Summoned by Gul’dan from the depths of the Twisting Nether, Xhul’horac is one of most powerful of the Void Revenants - a race of parasitic void-beings that tear holes through the planes of reality, consuming and absorbing the energies and beings within. Gul’dan has twisted Xhul’horac, feeding him overwhelming Fel energy, and using his powers to tear open the portals through which he plans to rally the forces of the Burning Legion.
Proof that you dont “explode” from combining void/fel magic.
Fair enough. You’re entitled to feel that way.
I on the other hand would love to not be shoehorned into one race per faction. You’re driven by player power and existing lore (which will have to be updated regardless of which additional race is made available for DHs). I’m driven by wanting customization for my class that doesn’t take years and leave us without options in the meantime.
yes he does explode afterwards
i swear people want everything for void elves all the sudden when previously everyone hated them when they were announced
Did you really cite the #1 example people use to invalidate the existence of void elf demon hunters? I mean. WOW. lmfaoooo.
It’s like you placed a bet against yourself in this conversation.
That’s what I was arguing about, but they started with debauchery and toxicity.
Apparently it can be stable, but it still depends on more variances for full control to be used safely in combat.
I mean, it’s never safe to be, any magic can get out of control and harm the user, but maybe that’s a grace of the race’s fantasy with that class.
Customization is overrated. Options are overrated. You have the option to do a multitude of things. Doesn’t mean you’ll ever take that option.
If you’re going to increase the options available to players, you should add options that will viably be taken.
People with armchair head canon aren’t the only considerations in the game.
Which is stupid. Warlocks have used void magic, the Legion uses void magic. Heck warlocks ha VOIDWALKERS. There has never been anything that claims fel/void are opposite one another.
I’m going to requote myself.
At this point i’m convinced you wouldn’t understand the above if you listened to it on a loop while you fell asleep.
It’s been repeated to you at least five times and you’re still not understanding it so i’m certainly not gonna waste any more time.
I mean, they’re right about the Elves thing, Illidan kinda had a fascination with just Elves becoming DHs, he states that only Elven bodies can withstand the strain of Fel energies and the trauma of the initiation transformation ritual; but Tauren for example seem fine with Fel in HM, as do Draenei for the most part… Orcs maybe not with the whole “go mad with Fel” thing… but as far as DH VE go, that’s a HUGE no, both of those things alone are basically like being a DK, adding them together is a recipe for mental instability. Illidan is still a NE, so probably some xenophobia involved.
I get it man. You’re militantly against VEs being infused with fel. As I’ve acknowledged that’s a valid concern with present lore. I’ve explained my rationale.
Customization isn’t useless. Player agency isn’t useless. Look at any class not using their optimal race. Considering the positive reception to all of the customization coming in 9.1.5 I’m sure a large portion of the player base would disagree with you.
There is nothing “different” about it. Especially considering we literally have a void creature being infused by fel and managed to remain relatively stable. The most recent shadowlands books have even put to question what we are suppose to think about the elements. That they may not necessarily be in opposition to each other.
In her and Turalyon’s Audiobook.
The void gave her visions, the light gave her visions, but she could only see the truth when she mixed the two together and showed her a trustworthy vision that she would never hurt her son
There is nothing different between casting chaos bolt and absorbing a demon into your very essence, with a malevolent being whispering in your ear at all times? Fel energy coursing through your veins?
you know you can stop casting chaos bolt and respec to a different specialization, right?
A demon hunter can’t respec out of a demon being infused with his soul.
Christ.
You do realize warlocks at one point had metamorphosis before?(and if not for it being more iconic to demon hunter might still have them now)
once again an affirmation that you are failing to grasp the difference between wielding a temporary power based on a specialization and a fundamental aspect to a class’s existence.
I mean, **** man. Like. Just stop typing and use your brain for a moment. Please.
