Now is the time - Bring NB/VE Demon Hunters to 9.1.5

My motivation has nothing to do with player power. It’s that I want customization and agency for my class.

Death Knights were granted additional races twice through retcons, and additional lore. Demon Hunters should have a choice of 2 races per faction at minimum. Elves are already rigged for our animations. NB/VE are receiving updates this upcoming patch. It’s a natural time to consider it.

I’m kinda bored of this person at this point lol. It was fun but I think she’s gonna keep replying without having thought through her arguments or having any knowledge of the lore.

Was fun

Humans and orcs.

Easy.

I couldn’t possibly care less

We have warlocks proving that has never been an issue.

You think it’s natural because you want it. Retconning an entire cosmic interaction though isn’t how this should be done. It’s not good. It’ll do nothing other than make the lore even worse. DH’s will be opened up eventually when there’s a narrative reason for it. There is no narrative reason currently.

But that’s what they do. All Void Elves need to control Void AT ALL TIMES, just like Demon Hunters need to control Fel at all times in order not to succumb.

And just as you bring it to me as the only example of a creature that exploded, I might ask then, what other examples of mixing Void and Fel that went wrong? It’s an example for both of us.

Obviously you play with what survives.

It’s not, and just another example of energies that supposedly couldn’t mix and mingle.

I want it  trumps all for many people in the GD forums. What can ya do

Warlocks wield fel energies.

Demon Hunters are imbued with it.

There’s a difference.

You’re not wrong!

I’m also tired of arguing this all the time around here. So I’m going to mute the thread.

Have a good one! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

It’s funny how you appeal to debauchery and declare yourself right according to yourself to say what you can and can’t in Warcraft mythology.

You really can go, there’s no way to talk in a healthy way. Let’s just ask because YES, because talking about it really doesn’t work.

You might be surprised to learn that it becomes exponentially more difficult to control things when there are more distinct things that need to be controlled.

Sorry but you clearly have a motive and your rationalizations are corrupt.

You will do whatever mental gymnastics / head canon you need to do to make void elf demon hunters make sense. The simple truth based on demon hunter lore and the single example we have of void and fel mixing is that void elf demon hunters do not work, and I don’t care enough to put in any further effort to explain the obvious to you.

Blizzard’s gonna do what blizzard’s gonna do.

Personally, I hope to see humans and orcs.
All the best!

I don’t want to retcon the whole universe. The only valid concern being raised is in regards to Void Elves.

Sure, there’s no narrative reason expressly to give DHs additional races this second. There also was no narrative reason to retcon Worgens & Goblins for DKs at the start of Cata. While we’re approaching a patch acting on community wish lists I think it’s completely reasonable to advocate for additional races on the ONLY class that has no choices.

Sure. Orcs and humans.

Problem?

If Void Elf Demon Hunters ever actually happen (I won’t hold my breath for it), I think it’d be cool if any and all fel fire visuals were color-swapped to the blue-black void color that npc void users have instead.

Again, I’d love to see it. I don’t see Blizzard rigging animations to two additional skeletons anytime soon.

As a fellow DH on their 3rd expansion of no race choices would you prefer to wait an indeterminate amount of time for additional options?

It really is a mental gymnastics, but if you talk about truth about a MYTHOLOGY of a game that has very few examples to ratify the verisimilitude, in this mental race you have really exhausted yourself

Not necessarily. It is not yet clear how the ‘‘chemistry’’ of these energies will be when they are mixed. Perhaps in mortal flesh it happens differently? Perhaps one cancels out the other in part? The sum of them can be something greater than just 1+1

Shadow bolt, Nightfall, Darkfury, Shadowburn. Heck, almost a third of their spells have the word “shadow/does shadow damage” in them.

Not until NEs get paladins!

Before nightbourne and void elves? Absolutely.

As a pvp’er, couldn’t care less about either of these options. If I had any interest in pve’ing, i also wouldn’t care about these options.

having these options available would change nothing for me. In no context would i care to select either of these races over the existing choices.
