Now I see why people got suspended from keys

People leave after one wipe. They die once and just bail.

“Sorry, need to go, my cat is on fire.”

Some do, yes. Not my experience with all. But yes, some do. Had one lock pug stay through a depleted 11DB a couple weeks ago and double chest the 10. Was a real one, that guy.

Player agency, except you better do the content or you gon get banned.

So glad my next indefinite hiatus is coming up soon.

Of course we all clicked agree to the ToS/EULA though so it is what it is lol.

Blizzard has the logs of literally everything that happened in that key.

I’m sure the trolls will have rooms full of poo and relatives will start dropping like flies, but one can only poo so much or have so many family emergencies before they are given enough time to get those things under control before they get to play m+ again.

I would just report and ignore

the sooner the toxic is gone from m+ the better.

that will make room for the more fun crowd to start playing them.

Downed my 10 key to an 8 for easy crest runs (SoB).

Was a good run. On track to +3 it. Evoker lags and dies on second boss. Misses brez. No biggie. We finish he releases we continue on

3rd boss, typical no pulling 3rd pack. Evoker pulls pack by mistake. We kill all but 1 and end up in a wipe. No biggie. Evoker owns it. We go back to boss and pull the remaining one mob onto boss.

Evoker dies to first tidal wave, and im guessing embarrassment sets in because 4 seconds after that he suddenly gets the “offline” tag.

Whatever we finish off the boss and go to 4 man it. Lost timer by like a minute tank fell into thr water and couldn’t get out on the last platform and we wiped and ran back and got it on the second round.

Would have been fine had the Evoker not dipped from embarrassment

Hey, that was me in the group. My dog actually did poop all over the floor right when dungeon started and I was struggling to hold it together. By the time the group fell apart there were 13 deaths I think so there was no chance to time it by that point just at the 2nd boss. things happen. If you’d like to add me, id be happy to carry you to a 10 and make up for the issue earlier. my main is 3k. what is your battle id?

Your name may be Falkor but will you leave me crying like Atreyu when Artax goes swimming in the swamp of sadness?

or they can type ‘baby’ and just afk for 20 minutes or they are kicked

I do keys with friends or friends of my friends. And so never have such problems.

Are you sure?

This doesn’t mean that someone typing “internet issues” is just using a cheat code to get out of any action.

If Blizzard sees such a player leaving 10 runs a day, they can just as easily confirm that player is able to do other dungeon/raid activities without issues, that they’re receiving traffic appropriately from that user, etc. They’ll also obviously have logs if that player simply logs onto another character and does a bunch of stuff.

Internet outage isn’t some magical thing that happens only when you wipe on the second boss of the dungeon - there are markers like unusual packet loss, latency, etc., that will surround the event. They’ll be able to see patterns of behaviour in people being truly malicious, and even if the odd person gets away with the odd “internet issues”, that won’t matter as much. I highly doubt any such system is going to fuss over one person having a dog poop one time, but more on people who are repeatedly showing an unusual pattern of “issues”.

Hell, it’s entirely plausible that half these “internet cut off” people are manually using the Exit Game button in the UI, which is obviously something Blizzard can easily log/track. Not everyone is committing to turning their internet router off and going outside to touch grass when they want to fake a dc.

People will just yonk the plug from their computers now.

I suspect that if someone DCs enough, that will be a pattern or a ‘hidden’ number of DCs over x period of time that flags an account for either a manual review or a semi-automated judgement.

Correct. Even if someone does not intend to be griefing a group, if they have hundreds of DCs for any reason, they are going to get actioned. There comes a point where someone who has internet issues realizes that their connection is not stable, or their PC is having issues. They stop doing the group content until they get it fixed.

Read the first line

“Without regard for the experience of fellow players” means people who have tons of disconnections - whatever the reason - even accidental. They know they have that issue because it happens happening and they keep doing group content. Then the second part addresses those who do it on purpose.

On purpose or not, someone who is leaving many many keys, for any reason, can end up with a suspension.

There is no magic “say you have an internet issue” get out of jail free card.

Very likely.

Either the player know there is a disconnection issue, or they are doing it on purpose. Either way they need to not do that anymore. The number of disconnects/leaves is pretty high I think so most players should never run into an issue.

Maybe not depleteing a key…but a Cool-down on the Key might be a compromise that works?

Not any more. Blizz said they’re going to start banning repeated leavers

There should be one leave per week(+), per account, for any reason. Any more than that and the internet isn’t the issue - the player is. Your dog pooped in the house - then walk him before you join a dungeon group.

Then they are the problem. If you’re that vain of a player that you don’t at least give the dungeon group a fair chance, then look up the names of everyone in the group before you start the dungeon and leave if you’re not happy with the group.

There’s nothing wrong with missing mechanics or making mistakes unless it guarantees that you won’t make the timer, or complete the dungeon. You fail at everything that you never attempt. Quit being the reason that everyone else fails.

Aslo: They should remove timers, or only make them criteria for certain cosmetics or for the keymaster achievement. Keys shouldn’t lose rank if you fail to time a dungeon.

reporter::: “Laeuko, we noticed that you entered 20 keys this week and of those 20 you DC’d out of 12 of them.”

yea, nobody will ever suspect a thing,

excellent plan.

better than announcing drowning goldfish or something silly in chat.

edit: psure if someone pulls this they’ll end up getting some time off to get those IT issues fixed.
