Just attempted a 10 GB, and the monk suddenly claims internet issues, followed by the hunter claiming that their dog pooped in their room, whom of which also dced soon after. This was also a three stack of players, and while I cannot prove this was an intentional brick given they did play to the second boss. It certainly felt like it, so now I get to push it back to a 10, because people as per usual, suck.
Well, that’s the new meta. People will just claim internet issues and leave now.
They’re not going to stay in your group if you’re doing low dps, missing kicks, not doing mechanics, not using defensives, etc.
The bans will not change this. It just changes how they leave.
Saying “I have internet issues” or some other random excuse is not going to prevent a system checking how often they leave a key.
Yeah I’ve had some folks just Alt+F4 in a easy +2 on an alt because two people died and we “screwed up the timing” like dude…it’s a +2.
Or they can just leave because they’re free to do so.
Internet outages is listed as one of the “we understand that occasionally…”
That wasn’t the issue at all, the key was chugging along fine until someone body pulled the second boss. In which I stabilized the group, I was the healer, and we were on track to save it but the tank died and what I stated above followed after.
If I join 200 different keys and alt f4 out in the first 20 seconds I’ll probably get actioned.
It’s all a matter of frequency and intent.
Does not matter their reasons if their key drop rate is ridiculously high on that toon, and perhaps account.
Almost always the tanks I find. They die once and there are far too many who just shut the game down.
And that’s why people left. Don’t body pull next time.
The only way to get people to stop leaving your keys is to play better. That’s it.
Pretty much, it was infuriating to say the least given we still could have recovered, but they and the hunter feigned DC it seemed like when it became apparent that they might have bricked it.
Thing is, according to him, they managed to get through it just fine with only a tank death. That wouldn’t be even close to enough to brick a key. They have no real excuse.
I didn’t body it, I was on the inside like your supposed to be to keep from pulling the second boss in GB, someone else did it.
The internet is going to internet.
Now that blizz made it public and gave a short “list” of what they are less looking at and players will now adjust.
Another reason blizz employees or people who do tickets, ensure not to tell people what’s going on.
Stuff like this happens when they are too specific.
I mean even with the list its not hard to track their completion rates of keys with them leaving midway through the key. It’ll still show what their doing, and means they have to take much more effort to actually grief and troll, over just leaving when the key starts.
oh no i understand that.
the problem is people will still take advantage of it, and try to lawyer rules themselves out of it to troll and miss-place their bad intentions.
“What…i got suspended 3 months later for key leaving? but my dog pooped 15 times that day?! whaaaaaaaat?!”
If your internet connection is having “issues” whenever a run isn’t going “smooth”, then maybe you should have some mandated time off to get that internet connection stabilized.
If your spouse is aggro’ing whenever a healer isn’t doing more than 75% of the damage of the other DPS, then Blizz should help you reallocate your time and save your marriage.
If your dog is pooping on your keyboard whenever the group wipes, then maybe you should take some time off to see a vet.
If your cat catches fire whenever a DPS is a little lower than you think they should be, then maybe you need some time to put up some extra fire extinguishers.
People seem to be disregarding this important part, that you can still leave a key, just don’t do it a crazy amount and maybe not as soon as you poof into the instance.
I like your way of thinking.
