With today’s maintenance, we’ve applied a hotfix to add the ability to queue for Battlegrounds from anywhere in the world. This will allow players to continue exploring the world while also participating in Battlegrounds.
You’ll find it in the Battlegrounds tab on the PvP menu.
Battlemasters are not going anywhere, so you can still talk to them if you prefer to.
This thread is about to get flamed by RDF people so hard.

Given this update, is there any change in philosophy with concerns to RDF?

Great, now hotfix the lack of RDF.
I thought Blizzard told us that instant teleports were bad for the game. What happened to that logic?
Deserved honestly. So PvPers can go out and do stuff in the world while queued but all pvers get is a garbage tool lacking basic features and we still are tied to a city because we have to travel to where we get a group for.
Rightfully so.
Im anti RDF til ICC, but yea this philosophy 180 just looks bad
“no plans to add” is the enemy.
Please do not turn wotlk into retail.
Especially being able to take a pvp queue in combat.
please remove that aspect.
edit: part of the charm of classic vanilla/tbc/wotlk is the difficulty in doing certain things. You remove that, you remove the point of doing classic.
You can’t do that in Wrath. It will give you an error that you are in combat.
Also making Wrath more like Wrath has nothing to do with turning it into retail. It is only getting closer to an authentic Classic experience.
WotLK is not applicable to this. We had RDF, we should have RDF, we will have it once Blizzard corrects their error.
Happy to see BG queuing from anywhere and no awful RDF.

PvP queueing from cities is counter to the social experience and the spirit of classic. Queueing for BGs while out in the world can lead to more social opportunities.

Okay, why is this okay to do for PvP players.
But the same technology supposedly damages the community if it’s done in a PvE sense? That makes no sense. :\
Fantastic, now let the PvErs do the same for dungeons.
This exact same logic should be applied.
So teleporting to dungeons is bad but teleporting to BGs FROM ANYWHERE is ok? BGs already had cross realm btw while dungeons had theirs taken away in the expansion that added it. Why is there no consistency with the things Blizzard does?
