Oh we’re back to dungeon counting! I like this game it’s as old as these forums! Next we can count bosses per expansion too! Cause more is better!
Well I mean they’re both fewer in quantity, and lower in quality. It’s worth pointing out and discussing.
Lol @ OP ghosting after this comment.
I think this is largely because they they’re rotating in older dungeons during the season. This is totally fine in my opinion, it gives you lots of variety over the course of the expansion, and you’re not wasting all of the old content that people have enjoyed in the past. One of the smarter things that they have done for the game .
You want to move the goal posts some more?
Here’s a bit of a red pill: Vanilla had 20+ dungeons, TBC had 15+
The shrinkflation is real
Soon to be Eight with a new Raid and two more delves.
Sooo… 13/2 = 8?
Vanilla was in dev ~5 years, was current for ~24 months, and the quality is nowhere near what it is today (by modern standards, dare I say garbage).
No red pill or shrinkflation here , unless you don’t consider any context whatsoever - then sure, da number is bigger zug zug.
I am fine with fewer dungeons if
- they divert resources to other things, which they did with delves
- mythic+ allows us to revisit older dungeons by keeping them relevant
Overall I think the team is doing a good job with TWW…siren isle is kind of a travesty though, like, I feel they were forced to push out subpar content with not enough resources
We’re also getting another dungeon in 11.2. While we did get a Mega Dungeon in Legion, BfA and Shadowlands, the Legion one was a mostly reused instanced.
But instead of 8 and 1 megadungeon we’ll get 10 dungeons for TWW.
Gotta love how “new” TWW dungeons are kept from M+ so next season they can pretend it’s new content lol.
Always thought not having all of an expansion’s dungeons, at the same time, as M+ was stupid.
In older expansions before M+, you could do all of them on their hardest difficulty.
And no dungeon counts from any modern expansions are going to beat the older ones- game was simply “bigger”, more people played it, more money was able to be spent on the game.
In older expansions, you ran the same 8 dungeons for 2 years.
Yeah, it sucks not getting them all at together at the start, but it’s nice not running the same 8 dungeons for the entire expansion.
Are you counting Dawn of the Infinite in the DF total?
Decrease in quality + dramatic increase in price = loss of customers. A lot of people are only still playing because the price hasn’t gone up. Anybody who thinks customers should feel it’s reasonable for Blizzard to double the price while decreasing quality is delusional.
Everyone would not agree that this is great.
I leveled a couple of characters in dungeons before they made it impossible to move from normal into heroic. At that point I had been restricted to 4 dungeons and figured I could learn the others so I could do random heroic dungeons. I watched a video, ended up with enough gear so after the bone-headed change intended to keep people from learning dungeons in heroic I could still queue for heroic. I looked at the new, improved list of heroic dungeons which had 4 old dungeons, 2 of which I had never done before (besides soloing), some of which were getting a lot of complaints. So I only knew 2 of the dungeons.
Yanno. I haven’t done a TWW dungeon since. I’m glad you got what you wanted, because it saved me of wasting time trying to make you and your ilk happy.
I’ve noticed that normally trends go up or down. rarely both at the same time.
I think this may be a conspiracy and it may have something to do with how the NBA is fixed and the next Blizzard promotion is going to be on motor oil.
So we have 16 different seasonal dungeons by the end of S2 instead of 8?
I’m sorry dungeons aren’t your thing, but based on your attitude I don’t think there’s anything Blizzard could have done to make you and your “ilk” happy.
You do realize we get less dungeons when they add other forms of content right? Delves , Torghast , follower dungeons all detracted from overall content such as more dungeons. That’s how the game works they give or take depending on what is being added to the game. Legion is also not a great standard as they pulled devs from WoD content like halfway through the expansion leaving it heavily unfinished to be able to launch Legion essentially giving it more production time than most expansions.
