I cannot get wow launcher to apply it’s update so, of course WoW and other games will not even begin to update. I cannot play anything blizzard.
Howdy!
Can you try to clear our Blizzard cache files Here. When you restart the Blizzard app locate World of Warcraft first and retest.
Thanks!
Done that twice already, no change
Also cycled my router, restarted my pc and ran launcher as admin. It keeps trying to install WoW and other game updates and fails after initializing telling me there is another update ,being the launcher, but it keeps saying it is 0% for the last 2 days
Close World of Warcraft Voice Proxy in your Task Manager and then do the update. That’s working right now. Blizzard is aware of this issue preventing updates so hopefully a more perm fix on their end will be out soon.
Can always launch from explorer if the launcher is acting finicky.
I’m not sure about your issue, seems a bit different from mine, but maybe try the fix as well.
Still didn’t fix the issue, even loading the .exe directly from the wow folder is trying to open the launcher, and yes I am clicking the exe not the launcher application and running in admin. This is the weirdest problem I have ever had with a blizzard game…
Having almost exactly the same problem. The launcher starts the update, finishes “Fetching Encoding Table” up to 101.38 MB, and then just hangs.
If I close the launcher and restart, the launcher says Waiting for another update and stalls there. Trying to force the update (click the ‘Update’ button) does nothing.
And there is no WoW Voice proxy running in my task manager, probably because the game hasn’t started to run yet! Don’t know how that could possibly help in this situation.
But I do see 4 copies of the Battle.net.exe*32 running in my task manager
9 times out of ten, this is because the patcher changed the permissions of stuff in the Wow folder.
I had it happen back as far as BC, when I still used Windows, then when I switched to Linux in BC and beyond.
I don’t know why the launcher sometimes does this; It is weird.
Highlight your entire Wow folder, make sure people beyond admin/whatever can “read write execute”, then do it for the folders in that folder too (recursive.)
Then run it again, this time it should patch.
I think in Windows you can also mouse on it and “run as admin.”
Still Updating Battlenet 0% q~q
Fixed it, had to stop and reset the repository in my winmgmt
Im having the exct same problem , did all the troubleshoots, dont work
can you explain how please/
- Press Windows+Q and type this into the search bar that pops up:
- cmd
- Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as Administrator
- Enter the following commands into the command prompt window one at a time. Press Enter after each command. Any time you get a confirmation prompt, confirm the prompt. One of the commands may also tell you the WMI service is already started. This is okay.
- net stop winmgmt
- winmgmt /resetrepository
- net start winmgmt
Exit the command prompt and restart the PC before retesting.
This worked for me , i couldnt update or reinstall the app, deleted the battlenet files 9not the games) followed the instructions ,restart and installed de app , working finenow, thanks
