We had this kind of “solution” in season of mastery with a very very tiny playerbase and the “enjoyers” of the game which is vanilla. This time around it’s going to go onto the live servers of classic wrath which has over 2000% the playerbase that som has.
This means that a solution against the solution will likely be found rapidly. Can’t slow mobs? Use a paladin.
Can’t get exp in this level range? Stop exp at level 78, twink your paladin booster to the fullest and still get your group maximum exp afking at the entrance.
Those are just 2 examples I can think of in a second and I am sure with 300000+ players who are more into this boosting thing will maybe already have something in mind.
This is like trying to combat bots. You ban them today → they see for what they got caught for → they adapt.
I highly doubt that this will affect anything as there is a lot of smart people who can and will find a way for their advantage.
I ran Stockades with my guild in SoM. One of the party members was level 30 or 31, and about to ding. They leveled up about half way through. I went from getting at least 100 XP per kill to about 10 per kill.
I’m pretty sure most, if not all dungeon boosting will be dead.
Since they’re taking actions to prevent such behavior, finding ways around it might end up causing some tweaks to the ToS, which could make dungeon boosting bannable.
Main thing I’ll take away from this is palis and warriors will likely be able to boost uk maybe gundrak or a few other non caster heavy instances without competition.
