With the number of groups that have fallen apart in transit, trying to coordinate everyone to get there but someone has to vendor, someone has to train, someone can’t fly, and the often insane commute times, and the fact that being on an active PvP server means summoning is near impossible and you typically get camped trying to get inside, I’d be inclined to say teleporting players directly to the dungeon is an invaluable convenience.
Removing those frustrations doesn’t negatively impact game play. It’s just makes it less punishing to do group content.
LFG is a very bad feature. It sucks and blows at the same time that’s how bad it is.
This is World of Warcaft not World of Chatcraft.
The chat seems obsolete to me anyway. Doesn’t the tool do all the heavy lifting? It reminds me of doing mythics in retail. You do a search for the dungeon you want to do, see what other people/groups are listed, form a party, and go there.
Yes, for the first time. Maybe even for the first 3 times. Then it’s barely looked at. No body travels to ICC just to look at the entrance. In the end it’s how fun the game is to play that has long term mass appeal, not how the game looks
That’s just not true. No one joins a MMO to play solo. Blizzard knows that so they put a lot of time into creating dungeons for players to do while leveling before you get to the first raid. If you actually played in vanilla and bc you’d know that one of the biggest complaints about the game was the difficulty of finding groups for dungeons and complaints that people are being forced to level solo with barely touching the dungeons.
Rdf wasn’t pulled out of the devs butt for no reason. It was an attempt to solve the problem of too many players having to level solo because they couldn’t find a dungeon group. The bc lfg tool was their first attempt to solve that problem. It failed so badly that almost no one used it. Rdf was the next attempt and it was an immense success. One can make the argument that it had long term negative effects but when added it was immensely popular.
Look you’re too clueless to waste time on. You didn’t play the original game or you didn’t pay attention to anything that was happening in the game back then. You know almost nothing about game design in general or in wow specifically. I’m going to ignore you for a while because you’re just not smart enough to evoke an interesting conversation. You’re welcome to take the last word.
explain to me how someone you dont know grouped with other people you dont know, in a group that has no relation to you, no contact with you, can affect your game play SO MUCH that you have to take away their game so you can play yours?
…look in the mirror dude. You’re side is literally ruining classic for me and tons of other players because you guy’s are too lazy to walk to Wailing Caverns…or too stupid to find a group.
You’re the one ruining classic by trying to remove things from WOTLK.
No body travels to ICC just to look at the entrance.
Exactly why players need to be funneled into these awesome locations…that’s the whole point of game design. Imagine making an awesome looking entrance only to teleport the player right past it. Criminal.
No one joins a MMO to play solo
Yea nobody will stick to an MMO if they don’t have a friend playing too. Or make friends along the way.
But solo leveling? Totally fine and fun. I do it all the time when my friends are offline.
difficulty of finding groups for dungeons and complaints
Yea. Please explain to me why we need RDF which TELEPORTS the party INSIDE the dungeon to solve this problem?
Rdf was the next attempt and it was an immense success.
Literally nobody ever argued this or said this UNTIL wrath classic was announced without. Then suddenly everybody loved this system that was universally hated until then.
You didn’t play the original game
Please explain to me why I would play a game I think is terrible?
Until ICC is open, I don’t see them having RDF. But, who knows. Perhaps they never will?
How about you explain why Boosting from 1-70 is ok, but having RDF for leveling is not?
Fixed for you!
No, here
His own words. He wants the boost to exist, but for free.
hmmm. yeah i jumped too quick. i like the free thing, but i think they should not exist. My bad! Making Joyous permanent would be a good thing tho.
This is just dreams and pretending RDF was none of this. Talk about ignoring each other from the moment you entered until you left. People in retail will go through the whole dungeon unless you wipe only then they will scream at you while running back into the dungeon about being bad when you probably didn’t cause the issue… Yeah so no socializing to be found anywhere with RDF more abuse towards players than anything else.
I am assuming your comment is sarcasm which I understood but just pointing out the astute.
All good. We all make these sort of mistakes at times.
You just described dungeons in Classic as well.
Also, RDF isn’t even used in Retail at max level.
Haven’t had 1 issue in classic with dungeons. I make all my own groups and we talk before hand it’s all part of the socializing that doesn’t exist with RDF. You get grouped with a bunch of people who could care less if you even finish the dungeon let alone quests. So if you’re having that issue in classic it’s more a you issue than anything else. Blizzard can only set the stage for so many things if you don’t put the effort into having a positive experience then you joined into a terrible group you chose to stay in.
I have fantastic news for you! You can actually manually form every single dungeon group you run even with RDF in the game. Glad I could help you understand how the system works.
I have fantastic news for you retail exists with these same mechanics stop ruining classic WoW with pushing things that didn’t even exist til almost the end of Wotlk good job.
ive seen you in quite a few of these rdf threads and not once have i seen you cry about boosting or the mass gdkp runs. not to mention someone already said earlier the glorious lfg tool was ripped from retail
