except the original wrath didnt start at the version we are getting this drop and this version already had RDF in it.
It’s true that the rdf didn’t generate growth, the population numbers plateaued and didn’t rise until just before cata was released. But If you want to blame the lack of population growth on the rdf then you have to explain why there was no growth in wrath for 13 months before it was released. You pretend to work in the industry and to be an expert in good game design. But you look like just another internet fraud to me.
There have been over a hundred changes. What are you talking about?
That’s an excellent point.
Because the same team that designed wrath designed RDF. Wrath has many flaws. RDF is just the most obvious and easy to fix one. But if we can’t agree to even fix that then we are truly hopeless.
No. Prior to the implementation of the boost in WoD most casual players never even touched end game content.
Adding layering isn’t a change to the game. The game plays exactly the same with or without layering. Anybody who opposed layering is just as dumb as people who support RDF.
This is nothing compared to what the classic + community wanted. We wanted pvp overhauled. Specs changed. Races added or even classes added.
That’s circular reason. It’s a logical fallacy and complete nonsense. I really don’t have the energy right now to teach another person here what a logical fallacy is or to explain what circular reasoning is. You should have learned that in a logic class in your first year of college. But an expert in game design should be able to give a more informative answer than this. Is that what you’d tell your boss if you were hired to right the ship of a stagnant mmo. You’d be fired in a instant.
Then what are the flaws that caused zero growth for 13 months before the rdf was added to the game. It can’t have been the rdf. And you keep parading you knowledge of good game design in front of us. Why was their zero growth for 13 months before rdf was released?
The rdf had mass appeal. Nothing kills a game faster than players spending long amounts of time looking for players to do the content with and often failing. Nothing kills an mmo faster than leveling players being forced to level solo because it’s too difficult to find a group. I no longer believe you have anything more than a passing knowledge of game design. You’re just one more lying moron pretender seeking to bolster your nonsense opinions with a claim to be an expert in game design. I call bull
can i have your stuff? enjoy retail i hear it has RDF, just what you wanted!
That’s circular reason. It’s a logical fallacy and complete nonsense
No. It’s simply a recognition that other bad features existed during wrath…all bad features and systems should be changed or removed…duh. RDF is a bad system. One among many.
It can’t have been the rdf.
Every bad feature drives people away from the game. This is a fact apriori.
Good features draw people to the game. Bad features repel them. There is no single feature or expansion that can be blamed. But if there was…it would be RDF.
The rdf had mass appeal.
Absolutely not. Walking INTO an epic looking dungeon has massive appeal.
RDF is literally a convenience feature that only appeals to people who already play WoW. However something like walking into ICC for the first time has mass appeal, because it’s epic, it looks cool, it looks like a movie. And dude a lot of games don’t let you do that, it makes WoW unique. Think about No Man’s Sky and the mass appeal of being able to SEEMLESSLY fly between planets. That is like literal magic to people. Look at when Tony Hawk advertised no loading zones. Look at classic WoW and how you can walk between zones and into dungeons seamlessly.
Nothing kills an mmo faster than leveling players being forced to level solo because it’s too difficult to find a group
Um no…most people are fine leveling mostly solo. Groups are for group content dude…Solo leveling can actually be a lot of fun in classic. I’ll tell you where it’s not fun? Retail. Because you can’t solo quest…because it’s more efficient to quest WHILE in a que. Which constantly teleports you while you’re trying to finish a quest.
passing knowledge of game design
Common sense. I’m not pretending to have secret knowledge or to be a pro or highly educated…I’m just advocating for common sense. And for RDF supporters to stop having massive WoW brain.
Do you anti rdf people that keep telling people to go to retail understand that you’re supporting/defending a system ripped directly from retail M+?
The same system that they use to gatekeep their groups and only accept people over a certain io score or gear ilvl.
But you’re telling people that want rdf (A WOTLK FEATURE) to go play retail.
Wrath had zero growth for 13 months before rdf was added. You’re claiming that it emanated it’s negative energy backward in time for 13 months and caused that zero growth. You haven’t proven that rdf caused the stagnant growth after it was added and now you’re reversing the laws of causality to claim it defied time to cause the stagnation before it was added. Either you’re a moron or a liar. But anyone with reasonable intelligence and a rational mind knows you’re clueless. I no longer believe you’re knowledgeable in game design nor do I think you’re capable of rational thought.
What cracks me up is they are catering to same “no changes” crowd, that… now want changes. RDF was a massive convenience.
This new dungeon listing thing is so janky. You can never tell what groups need since the healer is always listed as a DPS, and there’s always a rogue listed as a tank. And half the time you see three parties worth of people listed but no one puts in the effort to make a group. And a lot of people will see no 4/5 groups listed and just not bother to single list.
And no, it doesn’t take away from the social aspect of the game. You can still use party chat. I make friends in dungeons on retail, and have unresponsive antisocial groups on classic all the time. You not talking or engaging isn’t the fault of the system, but the individual.
you are utterly clueless
We dont want you here
You’re claiming that it emanated it’s negative energy backward in time for 13 months and caused that zero growth.
Um yes…literally everybody agrees that WoWs death is by ‘1000 cuts’ so yea…
You haven’t proven that rdf caused the stagnant growth
Um yes I have. All bad features apriori contribute to the death of the game. RDF is one of the most universally scorned and historically criticized systems ever implemented.
This new dungeon listing thing is so janky.
I can agree with this. But I will NEVER agree that the solution is “just teleport the player to the dungeon.”
That particular feature is not even relevant to what you’re complaining about.
Of course it was. Layering out of PvP, layering out to pick black lotus and so on.
Who tf is “we”?
