I think it is really fun how you can progress horizontally with gear and runes. I think there is a bit of a confusion as pre-raid in vanilla is about on par with gnomer, while p3 raid will likely give preraid bis in sod. The gear in the raids will be buffed maybe more added.
I also think gnomer will be a great way to gear once p3 drops.
