Hey I did several of the means of getting the new currency and so far I haven’t been getting any of the echoes, is this just a bug? I did an invasion, some visions and some bgs, but none of them gave me any. Help please!

Are you doing activities on an alt and haven’t logged into your main since reset? The system won’t recognize that you have essences to get on alts without showing you already have them on your main, so likely it won’t let you earn the currency.

Did you log into a character who already has rank 3 essences first? That is required to ensure your account is recognized as being eligible for the currency.

I am having the same issue. I have 2 characters I play, Monk and DH. Monk has 2 rank 3 essences and 1 rank 4 Essence and DH has many more rank 3 and 4 Essences. So regardless of which character I logged into first this morning it should have activated my account for all alts to get Echoes. My DH is not getting any Echoes and doesn’t see the Echoes vendor on Mother. I did not get the Echoes in my M+ chest nor the Major Assault I did today. My Monk got his M+ chest Echoes, Major Assault Echoes and the Emissary quest Echoes and does see the Echoes Vendor on Mother. I have stopped playing my DH until this is resolved so I don;t miss out on anymore.

I would echo what the others asked, have you logged into any of your characters that hold Rank 3 Essences already? You have a number of 120’s on your account so I wasn’t sure which one you’d consider your main.

I only logged into 2 characters today and both have rank 3 and 4 Essences. Only my DH is not getting Echoes but my Monk is.
I did all the above things on my main who has 2 rank 4s and a few rank 3s. I logged on to some alts earlier to open their conquest caches, but my main was the one doing the invasion and doing BGs.
Just FYI, we’re experiencing a little issue with log in/connection right now. Once things calm down I may be able to take a closer look. I didn’t want anyone thinking I just dropped out.

Also to add. I have at least 5 guildies I know of having the exact same issue on 1 character but getting Echoes on all other characters. Others are getting Echoes on all characters, even characters with all rank 3 essences who don’t even need the Echoes.
I just read in another thread (and in a tweet) that the support staff isn’t supposed to be issuing the lost echoes, is this really the plan or just a not-so-smart early statement? It’s disheartening enough to have gotten only 1 upgrade from six caches, at least give the currency.
We don’t have any known issues with receiving the Echoes, assuming you logged into a qualifying character that had already had rank 3 essences first. Our staff are not able to provide what echoes you may have received on your alts, if you had logged into those first.
I can’t really provide a stance on any possible bugs that may be found otherwise. A potential bug like that would need to be verified by our QA team and Dev teams. They would also discuss what may happen from there, which could mean CS helps, or another solution is provided. That isn’t something CS is involved in so we wouldn’t know until those decisions and discoveries were made.

There in lies the issue. Blizz doesn’t seem to want to look into the issue even though our trade chat on Area 52 is full of people having the same issue. Even the forums here have people complaining about it ans saying they did log into a character with rank 3 essence and are getting echoes on other characters but many have one character getting none.

Hey @Vrakthris - This is definitely a bug. This is my main with all relevant essences have been unlocked to rank 3. I logged into this character first, and opened up my cache - received no Echoes. I logged into my primary alt, and opened the cache, and received Echoes, as well as from the weekly quest in Uldum. Can you please look into this a little more?
EDIT: Drektheron just replied as I did, and if we’re both having the same issue and we’re both on Area 52, is it possible some servers are being affected?
EDIT2: The Emissary for Unshackled doesn’t show it either. Something’s not right. How is it the 2nd toon I log into and get Echoes has this appear but this doesn’t?

I’m not QA Drektheron, and QA isn’t scanning in-game chat. If you believe you have encountered a bug, submit a bug report via the in-game option found in the help menu or by posting in the Bug Report forum.

Also want to note that alot of essences arn’t purchasable when they should be. I have a hunter and a rogue with everything unlocked excpet conflict and strife but when i log onto my monk there are tons of missing essences that I can’t buy. Do we know if the characters have to be on the same server?
That should not be an issue. This is my main and I am able to see Essences from Mother on characters across my account.
Good to know, but that still doesn’t address the issue that they’re not dropping in the sources they are supposed to. It shouldn’t also matter where they drop from and AFAIK there was no explanation that you have to log onto the main before you get on any other toons (that’s not what happened to me, but also that’s pretty stupid honestly).
for instance. I have lucid rank 3 on my hunter and rogue but I cant buy Depth forged, tablet of the balancing tides or unbound azerite. going from a pure dps class to a multi spec class seems like im missing alot but i have all the stuff I can get on my main. Like its giving me the option to buy lucid but not the other specs essences? Plz tell me this is not intended
Do you mean you haven’t earned the Rank 3 essence of Depth Forged, Tablet of the Balancing Tides or Unbound Azerite on any character yet?
As far as I know you must have earned the Rank 3 essence you want to purchase on an alt on at least one of your characters. You can’t simply purchase a Rank 3 you want that you otherwise haven’t earned before. Please let me know if I am misunderstanding.
If that is the case, Knyvesrus, please post in the Bug Report forum with what details you can. Our QA team is collecting that information and looking into it as quickly as they can.
