Do you have the ability to form an argument without name calling or is that just your go to response?
Bots are an entirely separate issue, and also rely on third party software. The issue in both cases is use of third party software, which Blizzard does spend a lot of effort combating and banning people, though mostly unsuccessfully.
But, I mean, what are you going to do about it? I’m not even saying you were wrong to make this post, I am just saying that I have understood this problem existed since the dawn of my time here, I haven’t expected anything to be done about it (which has proven me right), and if I had that much of a problem with it I wouldn’t play.
So, I mean, are you going to keep playing despite this, or are you gonna let this be the dealbreaker? Because it well and truly is. They are not going to pay more attention to this based on these forums. Either you’re okay with people scamming and get on with your game or you stand on principal and don’t play at all.
I don’t necessarily want to compare games and real life but it’s almost like saying “because bank robbers exist and some have gotten away with it, I don’t want to work for my money or otherwise participate in this system.”
I can understand why you might feel that way but at the same time because some people in society are scamming that doesn’t make my straight life illegitimate.
The ip address that is visible is going to be the modem or router in most cases…
I said nothing about supporting multiboxing.
I said the “solution” would break so many other things for actual players that it was stupid to even suggest.
Why do multiboxers who don’t use automated software need to be banned?
It also doesn’t mean the scammers shouldn’t have consequences. Blizzard will literally not fix a problem they don’t know about or that people don’t complain about. They have said numerous times when announcing changes that they are making the change “due to player feedback”. That’s why this post got made. Sometimes problems get fixed because the people in power just want the complaints to go away. Unions commonly use this tactic by leafleting and demonstrating outside of businesses to get them to affect change. Closed mouths don’t get fed.
I thought Zaralek was the best place for mining?
Huh, I’m out of the loop it seems. I’m only a really casual gatherer so that isn’t all that surprising I suppose.
Multiboxing isn’t against the rules.
The Forbidden Reach has three distinct spots where Titan-Touched nodes are guaranteed to spawn and two distinct area’s where Fire or Earth nodes spawn. Only those nodes spawn on those exact spots so it’s very easy to have a pattern to hit those areas knowing exactly what you are getting when you are lucky enough for the nodes to spawn. Zarelek is less predictable with those type of node locations. This is based on my observations alone. But a lot of other people probably figured it out on their own too.
What keystrokes are being broadcast to the passenger to use?
If i pick up someone using my Sandstone Drake suddenly iʻm botting?
Im not allowed to fly my other characters on my second account around in pairs and do wqs now? I still have to alt tab and do them 2 times, all im cutting down on is time spent flying do you think i should be banned?
if you read everything I have said you would have the answers to your questions already. Nothing I have said or proposed would effect any of your examples.
Oh? My Bad. What was the answer to my first question? I must have missed it…
After re-reading your responses in this thread im almost 90% sure this is not about Bots, its about Multiboxing.
You seem to staunchly believe that multiboxing = botting and therefore needs to be eliminated from the game.
And if thats your take then thats what it is.
Change the rules if you can, but i donʻt think it will happen until its become proven to be detrimental to the game.
Offering evidence of that would be my suggestion to you.
Say what now?
Not sure if it varies depending on server but for example find a mining node over at Azure Span and stay there for a few minutes. Take a close look at the “players” that land on it and you’ll quickly see a pattern emerge.
no, no you wouldn’t be. World quests have absolutely nothing to do with what I’m talking about. I’m specifically talking about farming. Why do you need two accounts? How is that beneficial to you unless you are engaging in the exact type of behavior that I am advocating should be banned? Sounds like you just gave me a ridiculously specific example that wouldn’t really affect anything too much because you want to hide the fact that you don’t like my proposal because you are engaging in exactly the thing I’m talking about.
Let’s be clear since you are confused. Multiboxers are not bots.
Secondly, there will always be bots in the game. They help keep the game alive.
that’s all you’re doing. you’re describing something which is perfectly legitimate as an “exploit” because you personally dislike it.
Because then when you see something like what the OP brought up, it will unequivocally botting. and honestly I’m sick and tired of it.
I haven’t called one person a name so no, by the literal definition that’s not what I am doing or have done. In my original post I brought up the fact it could be someone simply tabbing over to another account on the same computer and using tandem flying to explain the behavior I’m seeing. I already know they can do that per the rules and my point for that behavior is that it should also be against the rules just like botting and multiboxing using third party software or hardware is. Try to keep up I’ve been consistent this entire time.
