Not enough is being done about multiboxers and multiboxing bots

prices on farmed items would rise, people could farm ore/herbs/skins for gold again.
thats 1 way.

so you know EVERYONE who “used to multibox” and have been updated/taken a tally and it has been noted that ALMOST everyone has stopped?

thats something YOU put out there. based on nothing. no-factual, out on a limb statement ACCUSING ME of covering for something.

where did i say that?

where are you getting your numbers? for the alleged “handful” of multiboxers loosing their ability to play 2 accounts at the same time on one computer, what about the benefits it has when removed to the rest of the player base who play honestly. again multi-boxing isn’t the problem, but its a facilitator to what the problem is.

Okay so the IP thing wouldn’t work to get rid of this. But someone above had the great idea of one loader active per computer so you can’t use the same computer to log onto two account simultaneously. That would fix that. That wouldn’t cause the problem you described. Easy fix. Next person!

Blizzard likes when people load two accounts because that’s two subs. They are twice (or more) as valuable as you. They just don’t want people using third party software to automate it.

Not sure what the complaint is. They are paying for all those accounts which is going into new content for us to enjoy. As long as they aren’t preventing others from finishing content, I do not see a problem

What?

My point was just that this doesn’t really have to do with multiboxers. It is just folks abusing a bot and then attempting to mask it as a farm group by using real players as the “farmers”.

It is honestly quite clever because realistically, there’s only 1 or 2 bots in each one of those groups. But there’s usually upwards of 20+ people involved with it. That’s why I said to report each player for botting. The whole thing involving Thor (the guy’s nickname) is just because there’s lots and LOTS of people who doesn’t get how these things work. So that was just as a way to preemptively have a link available in the thread early on.

… I may or may not have a habit of finding interesting spots in the world, and discovering where these secretive bots hang out. It is kinda fun to go about the place to find 'em. The only downside is when I had my mailbox full of several years worth of “We have taken action against folks using bots”, but it was a fun collection that self-depleted after a while.

I thought they removed auto-follow YEARS ago

Um, wasn’t “auto-follow” removed YEARS ago?

So they lose the second subscription by eliminating toxic behavior. I think that would actually be a short term loss and a long term gain. Players that don’t want to play a game where behavior like this is allowed would be more likely to play and subscribe or at least use a WoW token to pay for their subscription which actually makes blizzard more money per month for everyone sold that buys a month of gameplay due to the fact that it’s 5 dollars more than a single month subscription.

This is a perennial problem, been this way since the very beginning of my time which is to say 2007.

Just be glad the game hasn’t fallen so far into obscurity that no one has a reason to multibox. Right?

Also back in the day my brother and I were duo mages, one fire and one frost with names that reflected that, and a guy though we were multiboxers. We even told him “well we are in the same room,” which we were, and ran circles around him randomly without following the other, and he was still not convinced.

I guess some people are always just going to see what they want to see. I see a game that I want to play. If some people want to spend 75+ bucks a month to cheat, it’s them who look stupid and not me. Even if say they make twice or three times that, that is chump change my barely above minimum wage job does that in like a day and a half.

And even if they make a living off it why should I care? They definitely aren’t living the high life and if cheating at a video game is the best use of the limited time you have then honestly I feel sorry for you. Truly. Please believe me.

It’s not toxic though, you’re just a single individual who is a weirdo and getting bent out of shape about nothing.

“If some people want to spend 75+ bucks a month to cheat, it’s them who look stupid and not me”. If it didn’t effect other players and my gameplay and experience I never would have made this post. But it does that’s why I posted it.

It’s not cheating, Blizzard has explicitly said this. You can have your emotional opinion but it’s factually wrong according to the people who decide.

And no, it doesn’t affect your experience in any meaningful way. Other than your emotional issues about it that are your own problem.

Dear Zungar. I am not a friend of Venivici, i’ve never seen or head tell of this person in my life before this thread.
I would like you, Dear Zungar, to tell me where/when/how you came to the conclusion that
no couples playing together, no roommates, no kids and parents
.

Are you saying that couples multibox and have 2 keyboards and 2 mice and 2 monitors running from 1 computer and thats why multiboxing needs to stay?

Still. Even if that was the case, thats still not the problem. Its the auto-hotkey-auto-macro/key mirror programs that are the problem. and not just 1 or 2. were talking about CONGO LINES of mirrored clients acting as 1 unit.
which is facilitated (a great deal) by multiboxing. and thats why multi boxing must go.

They could be two friends collecting together. I’ve done this with a friend before when they had a crafting skill and they helped me get the mats. Just saying that every time you see two together, they may not be bots.

Broadcasting software is already not allowed and bannable if they catch you using it.

Most people still multiboxing aren’t using two sets of hardware, you just load two windowed clients on two monitors and click between them with your mouse, with independent key presses for each. It has no different effect on the game than two friends playing together. It’s less efficient than two actual players.

I just see whining about another player getting more ore than you.

whats the point of broadcasting software if theres no multibox?

In any scenario there are always exceptions. I’ve taken that into account. What you just stated was an exception that proves the rule so to speak.

Multiboxing is fully allowed according to Blizzard. And they aren’t going to change this, because it has no effect on the game world and provides them with additional revenue.

They banned broadcasting because it allows extreme levels of mirroring where you have like 30 characters stacked on each other, which distorts world pvp, BGs, and other content. With independent key presses its difficult to even play two characters at once and it has no real effect on anything since it doesn’t work for pvp and doesn’t affect any serious content in pve. They don’t care if some weirdo is in the feels because someone got two ore instead of one while paying two subs.

no it’s me whinging about other players using unfair exploits that I think should be banned to get more ore than me. No high pitched droning is happening in this post.

I agree.

But it facilitates, almost 100% of the cause behind the “bot” problem, Which is the the problem.

and bots degrade the integrity and value of the game.
