Believe me you’ll still have them. They’ll just come from honest players trying to farm without the cheaters present. What they wouldn’t be farming someone like me would be and placing on the auction house anyway. It wouldn’t effect the supply, it would just stop the people using exploits from being the ones benefiting.
no worries at all!
and yes, that’s a very different problem and not at all easy!
You could potentially make it so two accounts coming from the same IP address can’t form groups together too. Or two accounts with the same payment info, or two different payment options but it’s the same name and birthday or something.
take console commands away from players. no more / anything. no macros. what then?
sounds great, that would really keep people from doing things like “healing” or “playing certain specs”
Blizzard really needs to bite the bullet and outlaw multiboxing… making it so the client can only be launched once on a computer. That way seeing anything of that sort there is no gray line. But they’ll never do it. The inflation in this game would run rampant.
This is merely your opinion.
They don’t need to do this at all.
why? because you dislike it?
Yes I am sharing my opinion. Thanks for pointing that out Captain Obvious! That’s great insight into this issue! They don’t need to ban multiboxing? Please explain why unfair advantage gameplay is good for the long or even short term health of this game?
Nope. They don’t.
How is it an unfair advantage when each character played results in less efficient play? They’re paying 5 times as much as you and only getting the use of 3.5 as much.
outlawing multiboxing (if its not already against T.O.S) would GREATLY BENEFIT the honest player base who pay their monthly subscription.
It would also look REALLY GOOD on “the company” if the integrity of this game was restored by eliminating multi-boxing as it GREATLY FACILITATES botting/auto-hot-key/auto-macro programs that end up with congo lines farming everything in sight.
It wouldn’t in any way. Almost everybody who used to multibox has already stopped.
They are already fully capable of detecting exploits. What exactly are you covering for that you want them to spend a massive amount of money chasing down a handful of multiboxers who are following the rules? It sounds like you run an army of bots and want to deflect attention from your own activities.
Multiboxing isn’t against the rules, using broadcasting software to mirror clicks is against the rules.
Blizzard isn’t going to ban people playing 2 or more accounts simultaneously with independent key strokes because those people are paying multiple subs and it has a minimal effect on the game. They just don’t want people broadcasting to 20 clients which leads to toxic behavior.
This guy used to work at Blizzard, too, and is very critical of them when he needs to be.
Every single person out there saying that it shouldn’t be done in waves should watch this right now.
A player controlling one character can farm a node once and then has to move on. A multiboxer or someone using multiple accounts at once can farm the same node more than once with a very negligible amount of time between switching which character they are controlling to farm the same node. They are essentially double mining for a couple second delay per node as opposed to a single honest player having to find another node. Also, since nodes can be farmed by multiple people it’s much more likely that someone controlling more than one character at a time can mine a node after a single player mined it than a single player can mine a node if they find it after a player controlling more than one character. They are putting in essentially the same amount of work with a couple second delay for double the reward. Nothing about that is okay.
There’s nothing dishonest about playing two accounts simultaneously, and Blizzard has explicitly confirmed it’s allowed as long as you’re not broadcasting keystrokes using third party software.
It’s not independent keystrokes when they are using the same mount to fly.
So, no couples playing together, no roommates, no kids and parents …
What an absolutely horrible idea that shows you have no idea what you’re talking about.
Blizzard needs to ban families from playing together so that they can defeat the scourge of a small group of people going out of their way to pay them double the subs for the same game.
They aren’t multiboxing, it’s just bots running the same patterns, I was in Azure span and watched at least 10 nodes where literally one after another 4 to 5 characters flew STRAIGHT down, not at an angle and grabbed a node then went back up into the same direction (watched them on radar). If they were multiboxing they’d dismount equally and go back up equally, at least the followers would, but these were about half second apart and flew back up independently.
Not even really profitable to use multiboxing on gathering, however running a bot 24/7 would be.
