I play a rogue, mage and lock. It seems like I am mediocre player with purple parses after getting tons of gear. So obviously I am in guilds that not great but average.
On all of my guilds the routine the past few months has been clear 10M hm including yogg1 and then wipe 1hr on alg. At this point I am just pissed. I am pissed at the healers in my guild, the tanks the dps. I am not the doing best dps but topping dps charts at the moment and not dying most of the time or dying last.
I feel anger and resentment that the fellow guildies are not doing enough. I say this because I would occasionally pug 10M and that group would get alg easily to 20% while guild run are not getting past 40%.
I nearly created a ruckus in guild chat last night asking if we can improve 10m clearing speeds as I dont want to spend 3 hrs in HM mode on farming content. Even though I wrote this, my intention was to say why are we wasting so many hours on farm content.
The frustration is getting the better of me and I am just ready to get kicked from the guilds.
The sentiment is, I got geared by the help of the guilds , so it becomes sort of responsibility of mine to help the guild and myself clear content. I feel I owe it to the people. But the fact we keep hitting the brick wall each week is the issue. At this point its not even a burn out, its just the fact that we can clear yogg 1 with 3=4 players down but cant get past alg. The inability to even understand what we are doing wrong or how to fix the problem.
What do I recommend? What can I change? Spec, class , dont really know. We have one pally tank in 5k gs and 1 war tank is 5k. We are struggling. I ran in a pug with a 4.4k gs pally and 4.7k gs dk and we got alg to 25%. I am not sure where the issue is. Every big bang we come out someone is dead. All the 3 classes I play have safety mechanisms in them to avoid dying or taking heavy dmg. So I am not able to even articulate where the issue is.
I also feel this a lot of the time. You’ll get algerian though, guysa chump and falls over. Less of a headache fight than Mimiron or IC with its rng nonsense.
Edit: didn’t know you were talking 10m. I feel the same thing applies though, except its more comp dependent than anything else.
It’s important to have someone good killing stars, they lose health over time and cannot die at the same time or it’ll wipe the raid. The star killer needs to call for raid CDs as the stars die. He replaces stars that have exploded every so often, so you don’t want to destroy too many. They all despawn at 20%. Move away from Cosmic Smash and don’t kill stars at the same time as the smash is hitting. Ranged can interrupt constellations to reduce raid damage. Tanks need to cycle CDs if they’re dying.
its okay the game is balanced you can bring any class!!
With that being said make sure your group elusively has 2 Prot paladins, 1 Holy paladin, 1 Disc Priest, A max geared mage, 2 warlocks, a boomkin, a Shadow priest, An enhance shaman with caster weapons, and a lucky bonus player! If you don’t follow this broken arss formula of raid comp you’re going to have a bad time.
Game is completely balanced and class stacking is not necessary, but also ENTIERLY necessary to hedge your bets. This is due to their obnoxiously unbalanced spec/class system we saw during original Wrath.
Worst XPAC ever made in terms of actual gameplay. Historically hailed as the best because they had a lot of subs. Great metric for success… aren’t you having fun? KEK
First drop the war tank have him dps. Alg 10 is easier to solo tank and use target dummy’s or the warrior tossing on the shield for a sec to eat a stack or better soaking first big bang with earth ele and letting it eat the punch after use bop on warrior to eat stack before to reset.
Two heal. This lets you punish phase two pre 3 min 55 secs and as such don’t need to kill any stars that spawn after 2 min 15.
This lets you than kill one star on pull and time the other 3 to go off in BB do at least two there as using again the ele to soak stars don’t hurt it fully removing the damage of 3 of the 5 stars you kill. Furthermore only stars that die in BB other than the first do you touch all others die on there own so can hard focus boss.
The one killed on pull dosent need a cd and is easy to deal with so in effect have 1 and only 1 star with this methiod at 2 min 55 that you can stack two raid cds for if you want for ease. Everything else can be used as a tank cd and damage becomes so low you can even 1 heal if you want so long as they can tank heal. 2 healing let’s for some teuly fast kill times but 2 is fine and safer.
Just make sure to have a plan for taking 2 phase pinches after big bag 2 as will need another reset there for tank. I suggest bop target dummy from prot tank right out of big bang than hand of sac warrior who tosses shield on for 2nd even if he dies it’s fine so long as he gets the stack and gg no other swap is needed as will kill so fast.
They’re already struggling with tanks and healers what makes you think they can solo tank it lol. Solo tanking is for the select few if you have good healers and dps to back it up which they don’t lol. I doubt he even has the right comp like stacking 60 pallies in the group for dsac and AM. They probably aren’t even using the cooldowns correctly too. You need pallies if you don’t have pallies good luck killing it. Pallies with dsac and AM just makes the fight so much easier. Then disc priest you can rofl your way to free loots.
I hear ya man… even a very skilled 10 man guild group can have a wipe fest on Algalon. This mode was never beaten in 2010 it was hard nerfed before guilds were originally progressing it. So feel privileged to be able to smash your face on him like this!
It can definitely be frustrating spending time each week and not downing bosses.
Consider your options and whether it’s worthwhile for you to analyze logs and reach out to people individually, offering coaching and help for them to improve, or perhaps it’s time to move on to a team with different management.
Of course, you’ll have to decide what’s right for you and your situation.
Classic was never about the intensity of the gameplay. It was about large raids of friends and consistency of play. People you like playing with, your ability to play was almost secondary to enjoying the game. A world you actually interact with and explore, instead of sitting in a capital city porting around.
Wrath is entirely about a false sense of competition, no one cares about your parses/gearscore, or speed running when buffs and inconsequential. Obviously people are bored and don’t enjoy the game. The WRATH formula only works when all the content and gear is new. Its terrible for a re-release. Same complaints and lofty expectations of “CONTENT NOW” seen in retail. Wrath is the start of the retail paradigm, and it sucks.
Hard disagree on this, it requires precise timing with the dummies several times over the course of the fight or it’s just an instant wipe. This is not a progression strat.
Yeah bro, bring 3 rets and 3 fury warriors as your dps, any tank will do, dk tank and prot warrior honestly, for healers bring resto Druid and resto shaman. Ez boss
post a log so that we can see what the issue is and help you correct it. I’d wager your healers are doing something stupid, or your star killer is messing up.
3 healing is easier than 2. You need the 10% phys reduction from a priest or shaman. 2 tank is fine, if you one tank you want a druid not a warrior as the 2nd tank.
Whole fight revolves around how good is your star killer, how good are your tanks, and can you raid avoid avoidable damage.
