Not being able to buy WoW Tokens on NA when living in EU makes zero sense

I can pay for my subscription using an EU bank account. I can buy items from the Shop using my EU bank account. Why can’t I buy a WoW Token? It makes no sense.

That is currently how it is set up, Prophet. I don’t know if there is a technical limitation, a legal one, or simply based on policy. I’m afraid Customer Support has no input there.

If you’d like to see that restriction changed I’d recommend submitting feedback so our Game Developers can see it. You can do so by posting in a Community forum like the General Discussion forum or by submitting a suggestion through the support menu found in-game.

That seems so odd to me as Oce can but EU cant.

OCE is generally considered part of the Americas when looking as specific regions. So, they are grouped with the North American version of WoW.

While true if it was a legal issue we are more aligned with the EU in these regards. That was sorta my thinking when I saw your response about that is all.

That makes since. It very well could be motivated to help prevent fraud and exploitation, but anything I say would absolutely be a guess on my part.

Maybe you can add money to your blizzard balance and use that to buy the token? They sell the balance cards on amazon for NA

Huh? I don’t have an issue its OP that does.

I should have had more coffee that was meant for the OP

This makes no difference. The tokens are purchased in-game. If your account region is different than the game region, the option to buy the token in-game literally does not exist. There is no button, there are no tokens in the in-game shop, and it makes absolutely zero sense.

Then by all means, do as Vrak suggested and post in the appropriate places so that your feedback can be collected. Regions and the laws and rules about purchases and billing are a tangled thing, at least for how WoW was created with separate regions being entirely separate. The way their systems are set up have their own limitations, but you can at least at your voice to the many others who have asked for what you’re asking for. It’s just the people who need to hear it, aren’t, because absolutely no feedback or suggestions are gathered from this particular forum.

It may not make sense to us on this side of things, but Blizzard has their reasons. And we’re not necessarily privy to those reasons. It’s just the rules of payment methods and billings that they operate by.

It may also be a different price over there.

I believe the op’s issue is their bank account is outside the NA region and it will not let him pay for it with it because of that but his region is NA. After all you are allowed to travel and even live and work outside the US.

as someone whos in NA and plays both NA and EU i was once told i forget if by forum regular or a blue, on either region that i was unable to buy tokens to sell on EU because of legalities with trade agreements or something of that nature. to which of course because of goverments varied rulings blizz as a company follows suit.

whether or not theres deeper details into that that blizz doesnt make public to us players i have no idea.

now whether or not you/i can buy a token with gold on the opposite region i have yet to test as i dont have the obnoxious amount of gold on EU side for a token yet.

You can buy tokens for gold, but they can only be used for game-time if bought in another region.
