Normal Flying

I wasn’t going to bother responding to this thread. I assumed, correctly, nobody would actually read or comprehend my argument and just as correctly assumed nobody would actually present a counterargument. You came close, though easily countered, so I’ll respond to you.

You’re right. My rant is talking down to people. Not those who can’t defend themselves, of course. I’m not talking down to disabled people. I’m talking down to the self-righteous, holier-than-thou kinds of people who unironically use words like “islamaphobia”. The kinds of people who defend things blindly, without a justification, just because “someone MIGHT be insulted” or perhaps you yourself were offended. It’s not an argument to be offended.

They aren’t dragonriding, no. But they are being forced to drag this archaic secondary system alongside it, and that is ABSOLUTELY going to impact future progression of the game. People (Taliesan, for example) have suggested future iterations of dragonriding - like underwater versions - that, because of this nonsensical belief, are less likely to occur. People keep complaining about dragonriding, so the likelihood of getting something equivalent to dragonriding in the future is diminished. And even if they do add it, now they have to ALSO go out of their way to solve it for irregular players. And all of that ignores the conversation about flight speeds that are all but guaranteed once regular flying comes out. So the fact that dragonriding isn’t being removed is not an argument against my point - the preventing of progress.

You have contempt for me for not being willing to suffer unnecessarily for the convenience of a friend? So obviously you go out of your way to help all your friends, all the time right? Otherwise I’d argue you fit into the same camp as me. Maybe you’ve just misinterpreted me here, I’m hoping so. I’m not saying I’d leave the friend behind IN THE PAST and no longer be friends with them, I’m saying if a group of friends and I were travelling somewhere to go for a camp, to visit a convention, whatever… and someone said “I can’t go in the car, or a train, or a plane because of my illness. And I don’t have medication, and don’t want to get more” well either all of us suffer, or they just miss out. It is the LOGICAL response to leave them.

I mean it is pretty weird we can fly super fast and there’s even still flight paths, what is regular flying in dragon isles going to do except be a net positive?

We disagree. But of course, from your POV I’m just flat wrong. I’m fine with that. In fact…listen up Blizzard, I’d pay the equivalent of a Wow token to get flying without all that B.S. and I suspect a lot of other people feel the same. Yes, I’d pay to get around a game limitation I hate, try not to be shocked.
