I am a heroic tank that is looking to get into PVP due to the content drought that is waiting for 9.1. However I haven’t pvped regularly since wrath where I was just a feral druid/flag carrier when my guild would do PVP back then.
So I my question is what specs would you folks recommend for a new person coming to PVP in Shadowlands? I tend to favor melee but I also enjoy heals. I want to try arena but most likely I will start doing BGs first.
Probably BM Hunter or Ret Paladin. BM you’ll need to learn how to base sit properly, which is definitley a learning curve the higher you get in rating, but the BM kit itself is pretty fun and simple.
if you play with a holy pally they can use aura mastery with concentration aura to make you immune to kicks for 8secs (you can make a weakaura to see when you have the buff spell id = 317929). Also in 9.1 we are getting a leggo to decrease the cooldown of convoke to 1min so getting kicked will be even less of an issue =b.
here’s the wowhead link for the interupt immune aura mastery https://www.wowhead.com/spell=317929/aura-mastery
Right now your best choice is probably BM hunter. Many of the classes listed above are ok suggestions but ret is kind of an awkward one.
The spec is certainly overtuned right now, blizavision folks gutted its toolkit with the Legion redesign and now the only thing they can think of is bigger numbers, there was a lot of anger bc Bfa meme ret.
Regarding it being “noob friendly”, it is and it isn’t even in it’s current state, if you’re not used to playing melee you will get kited, hard. If not then it’s an ok suggestion.
BM hunters don’t have this problem and are basically what DH was in Bfa, warrior has a million charges if you’re getting kited.
I think Arms is pretty simple. You spam 1 button mostly (condem) and you can even pvp talent it to automatically charge for you so you can easily stay on your targets.
I have a question - haven’t really played this xpac but I heard earlier in the expansion BM was considered awful due to low damage. what changed? did they tune it up alot?
Is there something about DH you’re not enjoying? That’ll be the most simple as far as melee classes go and vengeance is excellent for flag carrying if you wanted to get back into that.
I think Havoc is definitely an underrated melee spot, but Veng has fallen out of favor considerably from where it was early season. Havoc is big fun though, I love it.
And when standing at max range behind enemy, and pressing the incarn\convoke macro while enemy is in middle of a cast/channel fighting my teammates. No need for condecending trashtalking when you appareantly have no idea what you are talking about.
There also seem to be addons taking care of the interupts making sure its interupted before any spells actually go of even when enemy doesnt even see the convoker.
Just like everyone said before SL came out it wouldnt be possible to balance anything of this, its too many systems upon systems.
