Non-participation 8 day ban for doing /afk?

i’m very confused on this issue.

please provide dates, times and actual conduct. this copy and paste of general explanation is not helping me at all. or was it a mass reporting by other players in the BG just griefing me? this account is over 10 years old and this is the first and only suspension i hope to ever receive. Please help me out.

If i don’t know exactly what i’m doing wrong then how can i stop/prevent the action?

is it travel time?
is it waiting for the enemy to leave the flag to cap it?

Ticket Number: US74937588

First off, you can’t appeal via the forums. That can only be done via a ticket and no, they don’t provide dates and times like that.

That’s not a thing, so no, it wasn’t that.

If you wish to appeal, feel free to open a ticket.

Just as an FYI, discussing Account Actions is not allowed on these forums. Your best course of action is to appeal the ban as Perl mentioned.

Do be aware, that appealing the ban does not allow you to have a conversation. It simply allows for a different set of eyes to look over the logs and confirm or deny the findings. They will then inform you of their decision.

so i opened the ticket. got the normal copy and paste option. and there is no chat support or number to call. what else can i do?

this is in Classic wow. and yes mass reporting griefing is a thing in classic wow. during the war effort. several hundred people were banned from this “griefing action”

You reply to the ticket.

cant they insta auto resolve. 2-5 day turn around time on each ticket.

There has never been a chat or call option for appeals. You can continue to appeal until told that no further appeals will be entertained.

Also, appeals are not to “tell your side of it” or request more information. It is requesting that they look at the action taken to see if any errors were made. They are not going to tell you exactly what you were reported for.

but then how would you know if you actually violated anything if at all?

IE an addon that was flagged.
or /afking out of a BG becuase you had real world stuff going on?

the policy is to vague to make these determinations. without some type of details.

If a legitimate addon is doing something that Blizz doesn’t want it doing, then it would simply be broken.

To earn a vacation for it, it would not have been a single incident. It would have been a pattern of it.

Yeah, an 8-day suspension with BG non-participation being given as the reason would not have been a single incident. It would mean a pattern of not participating in BG’s, probably a lot of afk reports from other people over a period of time. And possibly also not the first time you’ve been actioned for it.

pattern i would totally agree, but during this time frame the character is question is less then 3 weeks old i was playing ( ranking right when i hit lvl 60). i did some additional research and it appeared in the PVP ranking discords they recommend using “NON-participation/exploitation” in your reporting if you see players ranking that you do not agree with or rank against out side your bracket.

So you’re welcome to appeal if you feel you’ve been actioned inappropriately.

But they will not provide any additional details.

this is the first and only time i’ve been banned since this account goes back to the original vanilla game format. this is all very helpful though thank you for this conversation. please continue.

Going to go ahead and close this thread since discussing disciplinary actions is against the Code of Conduct.

I did mark the reply from Perl as the solution though since that is the correct way to appeal an account penalty.
