Node sharing from Retail

Can we just use Retail’s Herb and Mining node design? Tired of competing with 8 people just so I level professions, and to be honest I wouldn’t even mind competing if 4 our of 8 people didn’t steal the f***ing node from you.

The worst part is they’re mostly bots or farmers. My friend tried to mine mithril today and there were 58 mages everywhere taking all the nodes and using frost nova on mobs so it was almost impossible to compete.

Right? The game is so heavily botted that a change like this would actually help. It would drive prices down so that you don’t to forfeit your left nut to be able to a stack of ore, or herbs

Clearly there should be some type of solution.

I have circled zones seen NO ONE and NO NODES

None of the nodes in the world belong to you so it’s not being stolen from you.

And I’d have to say no to this, if you find yourself with heavy competition, you may want to choose a less popular farming route or a less popular server.

I agree. More nodes mean more materials for the server to consume. Some people like playing in a self sufficient manner, and buying mats off the AH should be a convenience, not mandatory.

It’s very very difficult even on a smaller server like mine to find mithril/thorium nodes currently. I’ve tried every mithril route there is and there’s people everywhere. The RMT crowd knows people will use it for BS/Engi/JC and they aren’t letting anyone else touch their market.

No. The classic cycle is the classic cycle. Stop trying to “improve” on the best expansion they ever made.

It was the best a decade ago sure. Now it’s just Bot Simulator

I wont argue with you that there arent enough nodes. Blizzard didnt really build out these worlds with A. servers 10x bigger than original and B. Bots that are far more advanced than ever.

It is a major problem, but I dont think node sharing is the right idea.

Turn up the nodes, maybe.
Fix botting, definitely.

Shared nodes is far too much retail for me dog. and for that reason I am out. Professions are absolutely worthless in retail. Shared nodes is one of the long list of reasons why.

Yeah absolutely. I don’t think node sharing is the solution, cracking down on bots with a GM or adjusting the existing number of nodes might help.

Either way I just wanted to throw my hat in and say it’s a big issue currently. Whether or not that warrants intervention isn’t my call to make.

Found the problem.

Smaller servers have always been used as a way to funnel resources to the bigger servers.

Shoot most of our lotus on from classic was farmed by bots that brought it over via paid xfer with a few thousand lotus on servers with 0 players on them.

We needed it. Not nearly enough resources on our server. Max of what, 96 lotus a day per server… with 12,000 people on the server. Yeah good luck haha

Node Sharing essentially doubles the node count without actually doubling the count. Rather than 1 player being able to mine an ore vein 3 players can mine it. Which means that rather than only getting 3 ore from that node, a potential of 9 ore gets mined from the vein. Pick up what I’m putting down?

Increasing the node spawns only gives bots access to more nodes, further giving them a larger grip on the market

Classic WoW is currently in Phase 6 Naxx in Era. TBC/Wrath aren’t Classic. They are retail progression servers.

The next step in the ‘classic cycle’ would be Classic Era Phase 7.

No. Go back to retail and take RDF with you.

Incorrect that would be classic vanilla wow not classic wow key diff.

Classic wow includes anything up to just before retail wow including the current xpac minus the current patch if they wish to take it that far.

We are currently talking about classic tbc wow phase 5 soon to be prelauch classic wrath wow, which is the current step of classic wow we are in.

This is blizzards def as proven by the fact tbc classic is called classic wow by blizzard. It is not the players that get to name a game, it is the devs that do. As such you do not get to say what classic wow is when blizzard already has shown it to be something else.

Banning the bots is a good place to start

Yes it would be but that makes them lose the sub and boost price of the bots if they get to good at it. As such ban waves here and there is more effective for blizzards bottem line which matters more to them.
