Nothing lasts forever, but if some obscure and hackerish private servers can last well over 5 years with the same oleâ content, I have no doubt Classic can as well.
Yes, Iâve seen how Blizzard âfixesâ WoW these days. Fact is, there are far more ways to destroy it than to improve it. Itâs already a masterpiece, why risk it? Thatâs how you wind up with stuff like the monkey Jesus painting.
I agree with HamonâŚClassic+ is the best choice for the future of ClassicâŚIf we go the BC and wotlk route we end up right back where we are in retailâŚclassic+ can be awesomeâŚlike OSRS that JageX did.
They have not lasted well over 5 years. Private servers lived by launching new realms with fresh economies and fresh competition and getting rid of the old ones, basically resetting everyones progress every 1-2 years so people had things to do again.
A lot of those servers actually did have purposeful changes to the game, such as nerfing gold farms that ruin the economy when everyone knows them.
Youâre a warrior. If you play a warrior on Classic, the only thing you can do for the first 42 levels is queue up Heroic Strike and wait for it resolve when your characters get around to it. How you view facts that doesnât change what they are.
Probably because of the reasons Iâve extensively explained. Every conversation doesnât have to begin as a blank slate. Iâve played original WoW. I played Classic WoW. I took the time to make my decision that Classic isnât very good.
Says the person who opens the âconversationâ with a personal insult.
who cares, you cant even do ghost exploration on âclassic wowâ. RS3 did it and I hate the weird extras that just confuses people trying to come back. Iâd argue for #nochanges but clearly this game has already been changed significantly that itâs not even close to vanilla. I guess itâs ok to ruin the game for others too.
The only real arguments against a distinct classic+ are that it may further fracture the community, and it could divert resources from development on retail as well.
It sounds like Classic and Retail have separate teams already.
Now that Classic is launched, the Classic team has nothing to do other than bug fixes. They cannot change the game and still call it classic. Classic+ would be the natural thing for them to work on, in lieu of getting laid off.
I donât understand why people keep comparing WoW to a comically niche game like OSRS.
Categorically false. Donât make stuff up just because what Iâm saying is inconvenient to your point. Kronos (what I played on) has been around since 2014, and Feenix is even older than that. Thatâs not the point though-- these were all Blizzlike servers, and they all had the exact same content. They only ever got more popular with time, not less.
The idea that the game will die without fresh content has never been substantiated, and, in fact, there is plentiful evidence to show the contrary.
Not correct at all, or at any point. And you created a different scenario that attempts to make your argument sound better, but my reply was to how you viewed running through the game world on auto pilot.
You donât have to do that. You say you experienced classic already, cool, what are you looking for then in classic? Something you didnât find before? Or are you just talking crap to talk crap?
I can throw grenades at enemies. I can hamstring them, run away, intercept them, and use whirlwind. I donât have to use âthe most optimal abilityâ. This is where you argue that Iâm bad at the game or something. The mob dies. It doesnât matter. What matters is did I enjoy myself?
WoW has always been easy. Its only in retail that it got annoying to play. Brain dead as you like to call everyone/thing.
I hate retail. I like classic. You hate classic, I guess you like retail. Cool. Time to go trash it some more I suppose. Gotta get attention wherever you can.
IDK if that is how Blizzard operates. It seems like most of their devs have worked on many of their projects. But if youâre right, then that removes that argument. That leaves only the potential fracturing of the community â which honestly could be addressed by the fact that most who play classic+ would have gotten bored and quit classic.
WoW is at a crossroads right now. They could consider the option of rebooting the whole franchise and changing the canon. They could tell a different story and build the game out with a different vision while still taking all the raid and dungeon design improvements they have developed.
I called literally nothing brain dead. Youâre a petulant child lashing out over imagined slights after you directly insulted someone and got swatted down like you deserved.
BFA is Blizzardâs idea of what post-vanilla content looks like. What people are asking for is literally there for anyone with a subscription to play.
Not sure why people think Blizzard would suddenly become a completely different company if they started making new content for Classic.
I never insulted you. Youâve insulted me multiple times. I donât care. You are everything that is wrong with World of Warcraft. I thought I wasnât going to reply, but I changed my mind. Iâm going to continue to reply to every post you make, and Iâm going to disagree with you every time. This is what you want, right? This is why youâre here.
Well if youâre that big of a baby, yes, anything can be an insult. Was I being nice? No, because I donât think youâre very nice. Not nice at all. I was being harsh, and I stand by what I said. I really do think mobile games are perfect for you.
I wasnât aware that 1 million+ subs is âcomically nicheâ. Itâs easily in the top 3 western MMORPGs, if you start talking about players in Korea/China etc then WoW isnât even the top MMORPG anymore either.
