Blizzard cares about the feel an aesthetic of the fights just as much as raid mechanics, is the reason the fire guy is in a red room using red abilities, if they didnt care about lore or stuff like that we would just get generic spells effects to make the game more visible like in other MMOs.
Not just as much, no, definitely not. Those things matter but Blizzard has given themselves plenty of latitude to just do things if they think the gameplay works better or it seems cooler even if it doesnât make much sense when you get back to your fridge.
Like, âThe Demon Withinâ on Mythic Gulâdan made zero sense and is ultimately non-canon but they did it anyways.
You can suspend disbelief enough for dragons and elementals but not enough for dragons summoning elementals?
My dude, the pre-patch, the leveling experience, and the end-game primal storms all establish a pretty clear visual language for what summoning elementals from the elemental plane looks like, and that is not it.
Which tells you that about 50% of the people who full cleared, did so on heroic.
Checking a different source, you get LFR/N:36%, H:21%, M:2%
And since clearing heroic also gives you the N/LFR achievement (meaning that heroic is a strict subset of N/LFR), that one tells me 58% of players that full cleared did so on heroic.
If you only kill Fyrakk for AOTC, it doesnât give the full raid achievement. If you were comparing aotc to just the achievement for just killing tswift/fyrakk, thatâs where that comes into play.
I feel like the american education system has failed us.
Seems to me a really simple solution would be to just split the raids into wings. Make them as big as you want and have a system to jump to next wing at the end of a wing and carry on. I could even see making it two wings vs 4 or something like that but split it up so itâs not one solid instance lock would help a lot.
edit: just to clarify. Make normal and up have wings, but you can swap runs in-between. So you have to clear wing 1 to get to wing 2, but you can do wing 1 with group 1 and then leave, and do wing 2 later with another group. Then we get the best of both worlds. You canât skip areas, but you donât get stuck with a group if the first run was hard. Still gotta make it through just gives some options and easy break points.
âI am a terrible player and only do LFR. My mommy says I am a very special boy and if someone does something I canât they must be cheating.â
Most players want more bosses. 9ish bosses for a raid tier sucks.
I work. I barely have time to raid. Maybe an hour or 2. I get a few bosses done and yea.
Or Amirdrissil where you dont have all 3 stacked.
Almost like there is variety in council fights.
âThe council fights are all the same. Everyone go cleave and unga bunga. Just ignore how every single council fight in Dragonflight is differentâ
Interesting take.
I hear you, but i just made the decision that raiding wasnt for me. And if youve been a raider, as i was, its a hard thing to come to grips with.
But things change, and society moves on. Im sorry my friend but M+ and PVP are always popping
remix and Terrace of Endless Spring reminded me of how fun a casual and shorter raid can be.
I tend to avoid raids because I donât want to learn that many mechanics all at once. Shorter raids would be an improvement for me. Of course, youâd have to release them more often because people will get bored of it faster. I think itâs harder for a raid leader to justify the effort of putting a raid together if thereâs less bosses though.
I think 8 is a fair number
I would make nightmares of a 13 bosses raid, but 3 is a joke
This is ludicrous. Not even sure how you could arrive at such a conclusion. And it seems unrelated to your thread title.
The number of bosses wouldnât matter for LFR - if anything, it would offer more wings, and more stuff to do, for the LFR folks. Making it good for player retention.
As far as Normal Raids and beyondâŠ. I miss the big raids with tons of bosses.
SoO sucked because the early boss fights were so gimmicky. The Iron Juggernaut is where it starts to feel like a Siege on Org, the bosses before seem like gimmicky padding.
I feel like 3 or 4 raid bosses is a good number personally.
âI donât want 10 boss raidsâ
Fixed that for you.
I feel like your commitment level of the game is LFR level atm. We do not think that
10 bosses with minimal trash in between > 8 bosses with TONS of trash in between
Long time raider - have to agree. With the ease of gear acquisition so strongly favoring M+, I think most raid tiers should be relatively few bosses and more drops. Perhaps we get two 3 boss raids per tier or something like that. If we get a truly epic story significant raid it can be a bit longer but yeah 8-10 boss raids are a bit much when gear can be obtained elsewhere for less time less skill less friction
