Don’t give me that, Carmageddon. Both Pellex and Skarm up above passed on playing a stooge. You did not. And it sounds like you would not pass on my idea if Blizzard implemented it, either, despite your hard pass declaration (also, obviously I don’t work for Blizzard, so that’s a moot point any way).

I’ve never seen BfA as playing the victim. The Night Elves did everything they could to defend their lands and their people, and continued to do so even after the burning of Teldrassil. I am proud of the Night Elves. If Blizzard doesn’t want to continue their story right now that’s a different issue.

I’m going to have to agree with Shieyra and Jellex on this one. The Horde players don’t have to play the Alliance side to know everything they worked at was undone. Marshal Valentine is killed in the Horde questing. In the Horde questing they find out that the Alliance somehow got the Abyssal Scepter back and were using it against the Horde at Nazmir. The Horde player helps Baine return Derek to Jaina. Sylvanas has Nathanos execute Zelling. Sylvanas intentionally has what remains of the Zandalari fleet sacrificed in the Nazjatar trap. Ashvale is a raid boss in The Eternal Palace. Horde players don’t have to do any Alliance content to see any of that.

I have to agree with Jellex, though. The War of the Thorns, the Burning of Teldrassil, the Battle for Lordaeron, those all did really suck, and still suck. They sucked so much that they drained any interest out of Kul’Tiras for me. I was completely unmotivated to spend time fixing Jaina’s and Kul’Tiras’ problems. And then a number of dungeons and Uldir had no connection to the Alliance at all, so beyond the chance to get Zul after Pandaria, I didn’t even bother to do them.

But things have changed since Tides of Vengeance. Everything has been going right for the Alliance. Everything we’ve done has succeeded in making things better for the Alliance one way or another. It doesn’t make the parts that sucked suck any less, but at least for all practical purposes it hasn’t added new parts that suck for the Alliance.

However, that can’t really be said for the Horde. Practically everything in Zandalar ended up in failure. Every bit of their efforts in the Horde War Campaign have been undone. They gained practically nothing in the Battle of Dazar’alor.

Things have sucked for both sides. But things have been sucking more ever since launch for the Horde.

And your own empathy?

I care about a solution that begins to fix this story for both Horde and Alliance players, and I think the BfA story so far has been punishing to each, in different ways.

You bring this up a number of times. But (and, fairly, I might have missed you posting it somewhere), I don’t think you’ve ever actually tried to make any such suggestion yourself. So you can “hard pass” on my idea, but then I’d like to see you propose one better if you’re going to keep calling for one.
