I don’t get the wanting to be anything but evoker to. As a dracthry, I am perfectly fine with evoker only class. Makes it very unique.
This is the primary reason I don’t play my Dracthyr much at all.
Like… sure, the mog restrictions in dragon form are gross. But I could live with it easily enough, and we have a permanent visage toggle for mogs if need be. But for me, I just cannot get into the class fantasy of Evoker with the dracthyr I made; he would be so much better as a Warrior. And, in general, I just so far haven’t gotten into Evoker playstyle. I think it’s neat, but just… eh? The only thing cool about it for me is the dragon flavoring. The playstyle is mid in terms of fun for me, though.
I’m unlikely to play my Dracthyr until we get more classes opened up to them. But apparently, Blizzard is too busy breaking lore to give some classes to races who realistically should and could never been them, rather than opening up the brand new expansion-themed race to more classes.
Blizz made a bunch of strange decisions with Dracthyr. The skinny derp lizard appearance, no transmog, wings that don’t let you fly… They talk about immersion with things like checkpoints, but where’s the immersion when you’re staring at your motionless dragon wings that don’t work while flying on a bigger dragon?
I suspect it has to do with the overall design of the Drakthyr. That and the visage form being locked into only two races.
If they would’ve just unlocked it for all races there’d probably be more players. Or I dunno… Made them look like something that fits into WoW? The current models and how they went about it are easily viewed as a political push, and that’s a sure fire way to split the player base. That and the whole thing just screams scalie. A somewhat specific scalie at that.
Vulpera’s in the same boat but at least they’re cute in some sense.
They are so ugly. They do not fit the game at all. And personally I think their spells and animations are lame
What are you on about? I see them everywhere.
You are allowed to just say you’re personally mad about the limited transmog options available and move you. You do not have to create this fiction to justify your anger some other way.
My main is an evoker and lemme tell ya, the lack of transmog def kills the entire vibe. Or armor at all. Just anything would be cool.
Sounds like a you think because I see them everywhere. And even in LFR.
My main is also an Evoker and finding good transmog is hard, but when you find it, it’s amazing. I’d show off mine but Blizzard doesn’t let me post links in the forms and I don’t think you can toggle Visage in Armory.
I’ve gone back to my old Main this Mistweaver like really tried sticking it out but I just can’t Dracthyr don’t achieve the fantasy of Playing a Dragon in WoW at all like don’t even have a Proper Visage.
Yeh and the DFA site takes data from all the active accounts, so if there are this many evokers that we can see and this many making the new leggo, but DFA lists them as only 2.8% overall and 3.8% max level, maybe the population isn’t doing too bad overall.
I see them pretty often but I definitely agree with a lot here that many decisions have killed many people’s interest in the race/class.
- Dracthyr have similar anatomy to female worgen. There is no reason why they can’t use armor. It was incredibly lazy to release them with only shoulder/belt tmog. Even the evoker-only set does not work. It is inexcusable. Even if some spikes or horns here and there clip overall it can work easily… except maybe capes. Again, if worgen who have similar digitigrade feet, long snouts, etc. can show armor, Dracthyr can.
- Having more classes dracthyr can play will help. I’d like to try out warrior.
- Dracthyr also lack a lot of the typical warcraft shape language and style that normal dragons have. Yes they are not actual dragons. But their lanky and overly soft shapes just don’t fit super well with the rest of the game. I especially agree that their neck and head is too small and looks funny. I also think a wider jaw option would help.
I kinda like dracthyr and I love how diverse their customization is. But the lack of armor transmog and class options really hurt them. The barbershop armor looks good but that is such a small selection. I hope blizz someday lets them use armor. It is so lazy that they can’t.
I’d play Dracthyr if the only class available wasn’t Evoker. Right now, my Dracthyr sits next to the Trading Post in Stormwind. That way I can claim tender and buy something I want without taking another character there.
The data indicates only 2-4% of characters actively being played are Evokers.
Obviously, it’s a new class, so there are a ton of variables. But I think the data certainly indicates there is a problem of some kind.
It seems like most peoples’ feedback is usually the same. “Cool idea, middling execution”. It seems like people are pretty positive on Evokers as a class, but it’s the Dracthyr as a race that aren’t quite settling in.
You can’t throw a rock and not hit an evoker right now.
Nobody?
Guess I’m nobody then.
I only don’t play mine as much because I enjoy other classes more.
Being limited to a mid-range DPS or a healer only holds its appeal for a short time for me. The new Augment spec should be interesting and I’m looking forward to seeing how that plays.
I much prefer Shaman, and if they would actually add a tanking spec to them, I’d probably play Shaman exclusively (and main tank if it doesn’t completely suck).
Mage and win. Just saying.
Love that song.
I’ve seen at least one in every DF dungeon i que up for. Heoric and Mythic. There were like 6 in the last LFR raid I. was in. That’s not counting how many I see running around. Oh people are definitely playing them.
Another guy who thinks his opnion is universal and cleary don’t pay attention surround himself.
I literally gave up of my 10 years old mage main and became a Evorker main player. Evoker makes all other caster classes outdated.
I can’t say nothing about hardcore and conpetitive stuff, cause i don’t do M+, Raids above normal and pvp, but i see evoker players everywhere at open world and heroic dungeons, many of them. Sometimes the DG group has 2 or even 3 evoker, counting with me. Also many of them at LFR as well.
You don’t like Evokers and created your own parallel reallity to try convince everyone that no one plays them.
