I’ve seen a few threads on this and felt the need to make it a topic. No, it’s not against the rules to gank somebody, or even camp them or stream snipe them…
Now, if you are GRIEFING somebody, meaning camping them for hours and hours and disrupting gameplay, then yes, that may get you a vacation from classic.
You can’t really camp someone for hours. If it gets really bad, log off and play an alt for a while. I really don’t think anyone is going to be banned for just ganking.
This sort of attitude is what ruins video games. Running to daddy Blizzard after choosing to play on a PvP server is pathetic.
You might be surprised. Some people are really stupid or stubborn and will continue to allow it. I only camp someone that deserves it however.
I had a warning after camping a druid in vanilla for a hour hour. The gm basically messaged me and told me to leave him alone because i was ruining his experience.

You won’t get banned for ganking but, you should probably seek psychiatric help. I don’t see how a normal person could find enjoyment in killing people that have no chance at defending themselves.
I find stupid going with lv 25 gank people lv 12-15. They should put a LIMIT on the level of the area. Oh you want go gank a LV12-15 area well your max level will be 14.

I will gank without pity or shame. If you are even considering complaining about being ganked or outnumbered or not being a fair fight do yourself a favor and roll on a PVE server. We don’t want to hear it.
Are you playing alliance come classic? If so I’m one of those guys that will deserve a good camping.

Griefing isn’t even reason to be banned-- you can just spirit rez and hearth or something along those lines. You aren’t prevented from playing, you just have a road block to deal with
Well, they are on horde territory killing our quest mobs and getting in the way.
The only pleasure you get out of it, is that you are doing a public service.
PVP isn’t harassment, however if you cross a line and a GM talks to you, you probably knew better or are a child.
No it won’t. I shut down zones for hours in vanilla and never got a punishment for it. PVP happens on a PVP server.
Then I might be getting a vacation, if I choose to spend my time ganking someone and they choose to continue ressing into me then we have come to an agreement for them to die. I shouldn’t get a ban because they continually entered into a bad agreement with me for a few hours straight.
This is classic, when something doesn’t go your way you try to kill your way out of it, if that fails you either ask for help, log out for a bit, or log onto an alt. What you don’t do is run to daddy Blizzard and ask him to fix your booboo.

I never played Vanilla but in BC, our guild would answer the call of the “camped”. It was great camping the camper and funny how their attitude changed from having fun to them being the one’s whining to the GM’s…lol.
