No, you will not get banned for ganking

If you’re on a PvP server and this happen, the proper etiquette is to get some friends together and go after them. Then if you’re lucky they will get some friends and before you know it you have a fun little brawl going on.

IMO it only crosses into griefing if they kill one person more than 5 times or are camping quest NPC’s or Hubs to prevent large amounts of lowbies to quest. There’s no honour in NPC kills thus no reason but griefing to kill them.

Ganking is an inherent part of PvP servers and are intrinsic to the Classic WoW experience, anyone who complains about being ganked without trying to do anything about it shouldn’t be rolling on PvP servers.

You had to of played during Vanilla to understand.

It was a right of passage on a PvP server.

Ganking is a part of WoW . Just like breathing . If players worried so much about being ganked , than go join a Pve ( Carebear ) server .

A little gank is great, death camping continously is another story.

You’d think after the second or third time they come to their body and see me with a campfire placed on their head, they’d just accept the spirit res and get out of my zone.

I did play during vanilla and played on a PvP server. I have been ganked many, many times in my WoW career and I don’t complain about it. I am on a PvP server after all.

I just don’t the understand the players that spend their time one shotting lowbies. It is more like boot vs ants. But hey, it is part of the experience.

Ganking is the best feeling in a video game for me-no matter what the level. Esp casters that are OOM, sitting down drinking, Corpse camping is pathetic as it hinders your own progress at leveling and eventually has diminishing returns for your pvp honor kills.

And when 5 lvl50-60 jump out and GANK me at lvl30ish, in Gankerthore Vale, trying to pick up quests. That’s griefing.

PvP isn’t for PvP, it’s for cowards.

you won’t get banned…

but for the inevitable lvl 60 rogue camping redridge / tarren mill / STV 8 hours a day, i’d get psychiatric help.

Unless you gank a popular streamer & they tell their followers to mass report you.

Back when I was young and unhappy, I used to gank quite a bit and spent sometimes hours camping. I did get suspended once for it, for camping a lowbie for about 4 hours or so. I wouldn’t waste time camping or even ganking anymore, I’m an adult with a family and a job, when I’m playing a progression game like WoW I’m going to be focused on just that: progression. I enjoy PvP servers however for the world PvP and competition element, especially in Classic before BGs.

I understand the ganking/troll mentality though. I’ve been there. We all go through phases in life where we’re unhappy and have to lash out at others. I was that way in my late teens / early 20s…hardcore conservative, single and frustrated, felt like the world was against me. Grew up and moved on from that thankfully, stopped blaming the world for my problems and improved myself. It’s amazing what meeting the right woman (or man) will do for a guy.

What is the diference?

My endgame is spending hours with a group of friends killing hordes on the same map (STV)

I think the only time i got a GM involved in pvp happening was a guild keeping booty bay under control for weeks, killing the flight masters, guards, npcs.

That really wasn’t fun, neither are massive faction imbalances

Tell the GM that asking me to not pvp on a pvp server is ruining my experience and stop oppressing me.

Sometimes you gatta fight fire with fire.

lol no it isn’t.

Don’t roll on a pvp server if you are afriad of getting killed in a game with the word WARCRAFT in its title, you pleb!

Voice of reason, thank you.

Apparently, not many people do.

Agreed. But some people really need Daddy Blizzard to hold their hand and make a safe place for them, rather than being a normal human and deal with it themselves.

A bunch of high level players attacking an area? Oh geez, if only there was some way to not quest there or go elsewhere. Imagine. Shame that is literally impossible and I better just complain to a GM. Heaven forbid I do anything myself or work around the situation at hand. /s

someone messaged me saying I could get banned for ganking, so I had to look it up lol

commit war oopsie → court martial → brig
