All classes have ways to show their usefulness in real time. Tank ineffective - dead (along with everyone else). Healer ineffective - tank dead (and then everyone else). DPS ineffective - they are dead or crap on the meters. Augmenation evoker has no feedback at all b/c meters are not accurate. Its hard to know whats working when you don’t have any data.
Oh noooo!!!
Did the boss die? Did you time the key? Did your healer(s) and tank(s) have a slightly easier time?
Then I did my job. Focus on the game not your addons.
No, we need to know if the augmentation evoker is being useful or just being carried.
Thus, if the augment evoker isn’t being useful, we can replace them.
Warcraft Logs.
Not useful in real time.
So don’t run with them then. Also tanks and healers have data that is more or less impossible to parse and evaluate in real time. I can guarantee all you are looking at is the DPS and/or damage done meter and basing your entire argument on that.
Well feel free to yell at the guy who makes the add-on your rely on
Sure he already explained the issue, but you can still go cry
I love augmenation evokers - that’s why I have one. But when it comes to group content and/or managing a raid - if someone isn’t pulling their weight everyone suffers. Including that player who may not have the information to make adjustments to make them more effective.
Pug problem. My raid group has no issue understanding that an augvoker pulling at or just above a tank level on the damage done meter is still contributing far more “invisibly” and the numbers the rest of the group and the overall speed bosses fall over is what matters.
It’s no different than kicking disc priests back in the day because absorbs were tracked and handled differently making their raw HPS numbers look bad (or even the struggle with evaluating healers properly when you got hot vs burst healers in content that typically favors one over the other).
If a pug group really worries that an augvoker is the anchor in the group, they can always swap to the “pure DPS spec” and get more easier to see pug numbers. In a pug though, I feel it’ll be more obvious going simply by whose dying early on encounters than trying to parse out meters in real time.
Details shows their DPS and predicted DPS too.
Maybe you should update your addons
In my experience augmentation evoker are usually doing the third most or second most damage in the group if they’re playing well. If they’re not playing well they’re doing less than me (healer) or just a bit more than me. This is with the predicted damage included.
I have only played at 17 keys and around that level so I can’t say for other key levels that are higher.
I imagine in the right hands with a coordinated group the aug evoker would do the most damage or 2nd most just losing to the top dps who probably was getting Power Infusion
Hi galabris. Sorry if I misunderstood. But are you saying absorbs/DR are included in Details addon now?? That’s awesome if true
I don’t think it’s a big issue when most of their kit is maintaining uptime on a buff, shielding, off-healing, and boosting allies damage. You’re a DPS, you should know how much more damage you do vs with an Augvoker. The healers should know too, not to mention whether or not the evoker puts the healer mana buff on them or not.
It’s realistically only a “problem” for tanks. Besides, technically you could check that with details if you used your brain and checked their casts etc. It’s only a 4 button class, how hard would it be to see how many times they’ve casted Ebon Might?
Skill Issue IMO
Agreed, OP is obviously not very aware of details features.
You clearly haven’t played an evoker or been in a group with a confident aug.
Also, Aug in real time has reached rank 1 in 3’s with a rating around 2800
10/10 would hate playing aug if they added the hooks logs use to look at aug buffs in game. Furthermore its easy to be a good aug, hard to be a great one. For instance when it first came out Method did a sim of aug at 6apm over 5 min and it provided 110k dps, now yes thats a sim and it assumes perfect play, but it is a great example of how hard it is to be a bad aug evoker
Oh wow - nice! TYVM
There’s definitely some Augs who do not know how to play yet but that’s okay. I’ve seen some with around 15K dps total including their predicted added damage.
That’s less than I did but the thing is they’re learning how to play still. They’re supposed to buff, damage and heal players as well as shield players. So while it’s simple enough it’s also complex enough because throwing out a blossom to heal actually takes a second before it pops the healing so I might have already healed the group before it pops. Timing the heals and all that while weaving in damage and buffs will take time to master
Gross, i hope the project fails.
I agree, easy to learn, hard to master. I feel as if my knowledge of other classes, and encounters really excels my Aug gameplay. I can imagine that a new player that doesn’t know the classes well might struggle a little to hit DPS windows or shield/heal at the right time. But even then, they won’t preform horribly.
It’s a class with a huge skill ceiling, but a low skill floor.
