No Sound Issue I've tried Everything!

Hey so super noob sounding questions but I can’t get sound in game. I have tried what i think is everything so here it goes.

  1. Changing headsets, Checking Wow Settings
  2. Updating and installing audio drivers
  3. Running wow on compatible mode
  4. Updating old cache files to “old”
  5. Uninstalling and reinstalling blizz
  6. Ending all programs in background
  7. Resetting my headset as default for audio

Honestly im at a loss. It shows that audio should be coming to my headset. When i play overwatch i get audio from in game. However when I play wow… silence. I usually run the game without audio because im farming or doing things in the background. But now I want audio and i can’t get it. Hopefully someone can help It may be a completely noob thing and easy to fix and i hope it is but please help.

No dumb questions here lol I did enable sound in game and have tried multiple ways of changing it and toggling sound.

Try changing the sound setting to something else, and then back to headphones.

I just tried that as well and no luck

:sob:

sound in wow is horrible… (I have to anyway) change it two places. The operating system and the game. I have shut down the game and restart it as it doesn’t ‘just switch’

Another thing to try. Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar’s notification area. Select “Volume Mixer” Find WoW, click the speaker icon at the bottom of the volume slider to unmute.

Glad you got it working!

Yay! I’m glad it worked.

That’s freakin’ hilarious! That’s exactly what I did and didn’t realize it. It was making me crazy.

same here omg

Headphones volume on the headset is set to low.
In windows volume mixer just go ahead and set all sound to max loudness.

You will never be a necromancer. Stoppit.

Brilliant…! All these years pressing ctrl-A and I’ve never slipped and hit S, until today… Many thanks! <3 Time to change that binding haha
