No RFD, Been given a terrible LFD tool

Whatever you have to tell yourself, my question is then who is the we you speak of so confidenlty in your posts? The pro-lfd coalition? Sounds alot like a tribe to me.

And?

I guess you can almost say we LFDers are a kind of “guild”; aren’t we?

And its socially corrosive, creates division and provoked unrest, forms highly descriminatory and exclusive sub cultures that seek to exclude and demean those that are deemed an antithesis to the “tribe” and ultimately leads to facsist social structures.

Sounds like your everyday WoW guild to me.

Please do cry more.

Not the reason, but no they won’t be banning bots.

Good news: You’re not required to quest.

been a looooong time since I used this one: Go back to retail if you can’t fathom traveling to an instance.

Don’t suck. Problem solved.

Glad you revealed that you have no idea about tanking in Wrath with this statement.

Here I agree with you that it’s a damn shame we’re stuck with Brian F’ing Birmingham and his toxic positivity. Probably the worst guy to be leading this project.

On the whole, I agree that the LFG system they’re going with is pure garbage, but I also think most of your reasons are brain dead.

I was 100% in agreement with you right up until your comments about warrior tanking. Then you blew it. In tbc it takes a good prot warrior to tank well in 5 mans. But in wotlk, prot warriors are extremely good for 5 man heroics. They can do better at aoe tanking than pallys and dks.

But it doesnt matter. Tanking in wotlk is a brain dead job for all classes. You will longer be able to tell a good tank from a bad tank. They will all be good. But if you want the best possible heroic comp. Warrior tank is the best.

The level 15 alts and retail avatars really showed up brave in this post lmao.

How many alts does someone need? It can’t be healthy to have one of each class is the latest patch gear. Boosts are alright to get over a weird hump or a level range you don’t like. I don’t want to do wetlands and STV is a bit high, might do some boosting to get through that awkward phase. But without boosting, still going to get through that level range eventually. I think people will just choose to not have an alt rather than turn to botting.

Yup, that quest design is certainly annoying when you just want to level up quickly. It’s more streamlined in TBC though. And of course the XP boost goes away at launch.

The only instances that are more than 10 minutes away from a major city are SFK and SM. SFK you won’t have a mount, so it takes a terribly long time to walk from IF all the way to SFK. At least with SM you’ll have a mount so the run isn’t as large. And with meeting stones, you don’t even need to have all 5 players run out there. Not a huge deal. You can make the run quicker by hoping on your main to get there quickly to help summon (you can’t start the summon, but you can help) and then switching back.

I don’t understand the complaint here? There are going to be so many group listings people need to refresh their placing to get noticed. Sounds like a good thing there are many groups to choose from.

Can’t gatekeep yourself as the party leader. I often wonder how many people think they are getting gatekept when in reality it is just not the case. Usually when I’m party leader, I prioritize inviting people currently using the in game LFG tool (to encourage its use), and then invite the people who whisper first. I had a heroic MGT with a shadow priest, rogue, and ret pally as the dps. That comp doesn’t really synergize or have strong CC, we finished it just fine. If you don’t like how other groups handle things, start your own. Do DPS think I’m gatekeeping them when I tell them I already filled? Get a group together with a tank, healer, and two dps for the daily heroic and type LF1M DPS daily heroic and see how many whispers you get. They weren’t gatekept, you just have to pick someone. (Edit: I want to amend this, in P1 of TBC, I did pick party members to help reduce competition on loot, i.e. try to keep it to one caster or one hunter to not have competition over beastlord or something. In P5, first come, first server)

Well people starting requesting the unwanted blues, so no one was paying out of pocket and at worst you were missing out on a chance at vendor trash, and people didn’t like that system either.

No one is using a bot to boost people in dungeons.

Bots are being used to open chests, mine ore, and pick flowers in dungeons though.

This is not correct though I can’t speak to how popular it is.

pvpers are a tribe
mythic raiders are a tribe
rpers are a tribe
pet battlers are a tribe
LFDers are a tribe
anti LFDers can be considered a tribe
goldshire special friends can be considered a tribe.
any group of people can be considered a tribe.

people that dont like tribes can be considered a tribe. we come to know the people with similar interests, its human nature. its only toxic if you act toxic.

Used to be mostly people that responded with tiki torches as words now it’s English speaking andys that will talk while they boost.

I demand proof as coordinating a bot setup like that is exceedingly difficult. I have done extensive boosting in the past and saw no such activity. I’m in t6 tank gear with all the optimal gearing yet I couldn’t even begin to attempt to automate the act of boosting others due to the wide variety of variables involved in being the booster.

Those people live in areas where the cost of living and such is at a point where they can make a living by playing the game. I’ve met and talked with a few of them over the years. Sometimes their account will be banned for RMT.

Then you must understand what a tribalistic diatribe is by definition. You can google the meanings.

I’m not gonna start linking to bots but they’re out there lol. I thought this was pretty common knowledge? There were videos of people flying etc in ZG in classic. Again, not saying its the norm among boosters but it’s definitely a thing

You don’t have to link to bots. You can simply provide any sort of real evidence other then “trust me I know everything”. I cannot trust you as you don’t know the difference between a flying hack and a bot. BTW hacks are how the botanica botters get up there with characters that aren’t 70 (once up there they activate the bot). It’s also how gold companies used to advertise in cities back in the day.

If there was a bot able to automatically aoe farm dungeons you know damned well it’d be all over the place by now. I’m not saying it’s impossible just that the amount of work to get an AI to be able to not only adapt to everything but to choose the appropriate response including prematurely going to a kill phase due to bad RNG is just a lot of work.

Your initial claim was clearly that the boosters are botting. So I’m glad you’re not walking that back to a statement that is closer to reality. Maybe we’ll get you to realize the difference between flying hacks and a program that plays the game (which might utilize hacks to help achieve it’s goal).

EDIT : If you’re wondering the autofarm bots are pretty simple to design from a programming perspective because their goals are always in the same spots and require the same interaction. The bot just has to use a teleport hack try to interact wait for loot then repeat to the next location. It’s super simple compared to running a dungeon.

I’m not gonna get into the weeds on the official forums with you on how bots work but the fact that you’d even say that kinda gives away that you don’t know what you’re talking about. The same LUA unlocker that enable fly hacks also enable bots. Once you’re doing one its a very small step to do the other. Which is probably already saying too much on the official forums but, suffice to say, you’re wrong…

There’s a distinct difference between a hack and a bot. While a bot might use hacks as part of an automated routine a hack is simply a hack.

You simply don’t know what you’re talking about and are attempting to hide behind vagueness to fool those who lack technical knowledge.
