There really is no good reason for there not to be Warmode in SOD. The only people who argue against it are people who sit outside leveling zones with 4 other people all day and still haven’t managed to hit rank 3.
Rolled on PvP servers.
Or you could have just made the personal choice to roll on a PvE server? PvP server is warmode for you.
PVP server isn’t a good reason not to have warmode? Next…
When War Mode was introduced in the BfA pre-patch, I really didn’t see the point of it. It was the equivalent of typing “/pvp” to enable PvP in Stormwind/Orgrimmar, and typing “/pvp” to disable PvP in a rested area. On PvP servers in BfA and later, isn’t it just the same as War Mode being active at all times? And how is it so different from just typing “/pvp” to turn PvP mode on or off?
You have normal servers with a PvP toggle. What specifically about Warmode do you want in Classic?
Retailers will not be happy until SoD is destroyed and they move to the next game to destroy
This is a really good point. On PVE servers, warmode essentially arleady exists. If you roll on a PVP server, there is no way to opt out of pvp without warmode.
Awe yes, please elaborate on how it would destroy SOD? I’m very curious as to your reasoning behind this!
Odin, the real question is can you give one good reason to add warmode to classic?
Easy, it allows you to level up on a pvp server without getting camped by max level characters in a party of 5 wearing full bis. Then upon hitting level cap and getting some gear you are now able to enjoy pvp on a more even playing field.
I don’t think this is a good reason to change a 20 year old game. You can roll on PVE server, leave your pvp flag off, level to max, and then you can flag yourself and do exactly what you said you wanted to do. The option you want is already in the game.
Because world PvP is more fun.
I agree 100% , world pvp is more fun. Thats why I rolled on PVP server. If I get camped by group of 5 players, I ask guild for back up or local players in the area. Anyone who prefers the option to opt out of world pvp can simply join a PVE realm.
So do PvP servers simply not exist on live anymore? I’m legitimately ignorant to this, asking honestly.
If they do, I don’t know what the inherent difference between war mode and typing “/pvp” on a PvE realm is still.
If they don’t, then they’ve just gotten rid of PvP realms and made them all PvE.
You realize I’m talking about SOD not classic correct?? The whole point of it is to make changes and see what sticks. I think the current iteration of Warmode in retail is done pretty well, where there are Warmode specific events and items that incentivize it. Then for when you don’t feel like spending the day running back and forth from the graveyard you just turn it off.
I never thought of it this way, but you made a great point. You are correct, on live they really only have PVE servers because anyone can simply opt out of pvp whenever they chooose.
SOD runs on the classic client.
Except Warmode destroyed PvP servers. Because people like you couldn’t roll on PvE.
On retail you have to go to one of the major cities Org or SW and turn it on. Then you get layered with PVP only players. It is a good addition because there are people who like to PVP and PVE. If you go to a PVE server and type /pvp you wont find anyone else flagged, where Warmode everyone in it is flagged, but you can opt out of it at an inn.
