As a Tank I find trying to use LFG not only toxic but gatekeeping dungeons from the majority of players. It just creates so much downtime (which we don’t have enough time) then gives groups the elitist mentality that you see in Retail with M+.
Sorry I just want to Que Dungeons and spam them. From normal to heroic! Yesterday I did no dungeons. I wanted to do them. I really do because I’m on vacation (yes I took a vacation to play). Yet it’s so frustrating using this awful toxic tool that somehow people think is good for the social aspect of the game?
I just don’t want to use the new tool. I want to do dungeons and I don’t want to wait 30mins to get into a failed awful run. Or maybe I do get a decent run then back to waiting again or not finding another group. Welcome to the waiting game.
The real reason Blizz likes their LFG tool is it time-gates players from doing content and causes them to stay logged in longer to satisfy investors. They don’t care about us they just want time played metrics to look good instead of having a fun efficient RDF.
Why can’t we just Que for Dungeons and have RDF like intended which only helped the social aspect of the game. You just hit Que and made new friends. You eliminated downtime which right now is important being that you can wait 4+ hrs just to play.
Imagine waiting 4hrs to play then you gotta wait while in game to play again… People are just gonna log off or Quit which isn’t healthy for WotLK. RDF only made WotLK better.
Not having RDF will only cripple WotLK and it’s community in immeasurable ways. Please add it so people can do Dungeons and have fun when they do get to play WoW. Sorry not letting this go. Blizz do the right thing and save WotLK and make it enjoyable.
I go back to work this week I’m sure ill do even less dungeons because when I do get to play it’s so annoying trying to find a run. Life is difficult no idea why they want to make the game difficult to find groups too. Makes no sense. Maybe I should let my Sub run out. Idk this is just a huge bummer.
Edit update: I did a dungeon yesterday here was the experience and it’s exhausting. LFG is just a loot council and barrier for play.
Sorry, but I don’t buy this entire thread and didn’t even read the rest. As a tank, you should have the easiest time getting groups out of all roles/classes combined.
Wrong it’s so annoying. If we had RDF we could just play and enjoy the game. This current LFG tool is terrible and should of been left in Retail. RDF is a classic feature and I just won’t get the dungeons done till it’s added.
No idea why gatekeeping dungeons is a good idea? Why you want us to wait and use a terrible tool to play the game. It’s just frustrating. This can be all fixed with RDF.
I was kind of surprised that rdf wasn’t included for low level dungeons and maybe normals
I didn’t expect it to be implemented for heroics until Uldaur at least. I didn’t think they’d want the single run per heroic limit bypassed before heroic gear was irrelevant.
While I’m personally not opposed to RDF, it’s clear people have forgotten the early days when 3-4 player groups would join and just boot anyone who wasn’t geared. Toxicity, uhh, finds a way.
Then don’t. Go play the version of the game that exists with the tool you want.
I get that making groups and talking to people isn’t something you might not enjoy doing and some of the groups are bad. But that doesn’t mean it’s always the tools fault. Classic wasn’t made to be an antisocial teleporting experience made to be as convenient as possible and if as a tank you’re finding yourself unable to deal with the system we’ve had for years then the problem is you.
Why? This just proves my point further! It’s annoying as a Tank so it’s even more annoying for Dps.
Why can’t we just bypass this annoying situation and just add in RDF that literally fixes everything and makes WotLK more fun to play. Since you actually get to play it!!!

Thanks for the bump. I’m fine and know how to tank and have several Pre Raid BiS. The problem is we don’t have RDF but instead to gatekeeping toxic tool instead. That hurts players overall.
“This situation” is a factor in the game because we aren’t playing a sanitised, homogenised version where everyone is instantly replaceable like retail. Classes do different things, some are better than others and that’s a big part of classic. The solution isn’t to create a tool that allows you to force people to group with you - it’s to change your setup to meet the demands as best you can and work with a suboptimal situation or find a group that doesn’t care.
Yea but it just takes to long so I just end up mining, doing BGs or something else. Then lose hope and interest in getting runs done. Not having RDF is just so annoying and having to use this much worse system instead. I don’t get it.
Maybe I should just let my Sub run out and come back when they add RDF in a latter phase. (or fix the Ques more) This isn’t going to be fun.
Again I just don’t get why we can’t have RDF that just improves gameplay dramatically where you can have fun. Such a bummer this is where we are at. Got 8 days left on Sub.
Not everyone sees fun as saying nothing and being teleported in with 4 people you can’t vet or see again. That kind of “fun” exists in retail and it was so “fun” people demanded classic and we’re here because of it.
If what you want from WoW, an MMO, is that experience than it’s there for you. But not on classic.
RDF is a huge classic feature. It was introduced in WotLK and made the expansion better. It was widely loved because it let players actually play the game. Especially players that had a hard time meeting new people or finding runs.
Gatekeeping dungeons from the majority of the player base currently and creating massive amounts of downtime (when we don’t have that, we have jobs, lives, families) not to mention Ques.
Sorry waiting in Que to play then using an annoying feature to that waste TIME and is frustrating just to try and get a dungeon done before you got to go to bed so you can wake up and work the next day isn’t fun!!
RDF is only a positive where this LFG tool is only a negative in Classic.
Same with me but i have a healer , two tanks and two dps. I just want to queue up, run quests, grind or gather and pop into dungeon when it pops. I don’t want to wait around and waste time. That’s literally how I spent original wotlk. Looks like i am out when df comes. Too bad, original wotlk was my favorite
Exactly!! Like it’s so annoying to try and play the game without it. When we literally had the best version of WotLK originally with RDF.
Most ppl will be out before DF because they can’t get into dungeons and with Ques it’s just gatekeeping the game from players. Shame that they really ruined the launch of WotLK.
It has never been in classic. it was added in the latter half of the original WOTLK which we aren’t even close to yet.
All my guildies are full time dads that find the time to spend an hour or two a day to do dungeons. None need a tool to do that or want it because they play classic to get away from those systems.
