Its like this all the time, this is the minimum of high levels sitting on the platform ready to take their flight path. There are many more during peak times. This is 10:00 am Eastern btw
The notion that people are out in the world is nonsense. They wait for a group, jump on the FP. Land, mount up and fly to the entrance. The only part of the world they see is, Dalaran, Flight path, Meeting stone.
Bring back RDF. Fact is the community wants convenience.
I have it on good authority (all the classic andy’s) that the reason people sat in cities was only because of RDF. They called it “World of Queuecraft”
it certainly makes it easier. A big pop up in the middle of the screen is easier to spot than whisper to join a group when your watching netflix on the side waiting for a queue to pop.
But if you want to actively play the game between dungeons, then it makes no difference whether or not they chill in town running circles or go out to farm.
No, but for me, RDF frees me from sitting in the same location just focusing on the chat trying to either put a group together or trying to look for a group. It makes it easier for me to do other stuff while in the queue, such as dailies or levelling an alt.
Plus, the Vanilla zones are basically ghost towns. Good luck finding a group for that.
Thats the thing, they’re not doing other stuff. They’re sitting in Dalaran. The only thing no RDF has changed is the requirement to get on the FP. It added time and inconvenience and nothing else.
I still sit in town and make people summon me because I know everyones in Northend anyway while I’m way over in IF or something. People are gonna sit like they did in TBC in Shatt and they’ll do it again in Dal. Nothings changed, just give RDF so we can get in the dungeon sooner.
The new dungeon finder is basically random. Everyone ques for multiple dungeons and gets randomly invited and told what dungeon to do. The only difference is we don’t get teleported. I sti don’t talk to people other than asking if they want to stay together and run more. I have no idea who my last few tanks or healers were that weren’t in my guild. Benediction is so huge that I still haven’t seen the same players more than once, usually just guilds I recognize from previous (dead) servers.
How this is that big of a difference from RDF is beyond me.
Every group has summoned me while I was elsewhere. I see no difference, “community wise”, other than I don’t get returned to my original location, which is annoying. But, I am a mage, so I can go anywhere quickly. It’s probably worse for the group starter, who most likely has to summon everyone else.
