Straightvamp - Stormrage
just leveled through Draenor in Chromie Time. I popped out of Chromie time and the game quest tells me to accept the quest “Dragon Isles Awaits”, however there is no quest on the map whatsoever. I even went to the keep and nothing was there to accept.
I relogged, refreshed, disabled addons, etc., and nothing.
The portal room had valdrakken available so I used it, and now I’m in Dragonflight without even having accepted the intro quest to even get there, which is screwing things up for me in the dragon isles. I cannot accept any zone quest here so it’s kind of pointless for me to be in the dragon isles right now at level 60
Please help! This is the first time I’ve encountered this issue and something tells me it has something to do with the pre-patch being screwy with many things.
You are half correct. It has everything to do with the pre-patch. The pre-patch made Dragonflight the default leveling experience, so every character (assuming they have purchased Dragonflight, as it has not yet been rolled into the base game) is funneled into the Dragon Isles at level 10.
For any other expansion that you want to level in, you need to see Chromie to do Chromie Time.
This is 100% intended and working as it should. Maybe the only thing that worked as intended in the pre-patch.

I used Chromie time to level my entire character from 1-58 in draenor and now I cannot accept or find the quest to go to the dragon isles so I have no idea where to start the first quest to even get to dragon isles. There is nothing in stormwind keep (wrathion is not there).
So I’m in dragon isles via the portal room, but cannot take any zone quests here so I’m twiddling my thumbs. Level 61.
This is no quest to go to the Dragon Isles anymore. Everyone is already there, by default now.
There may be a breadcrumb quest somewhere in SW or Org, but you simply take the boat/zeppelin to the Dragon Isles. The first quests in Waking Shores are still the same. But you are no longer bound by following the storyline from the “first” quest on. You can go to any zone and get started with the zone’s storyline, or simply go do world quests or queue for dungeons.
You can take any quest that your character has not done. You just need to go to where the quests are.

I know all this, as this is one of many alts, but for whatever reason there are no quests to accept in the waking shores or anywhere else. Literally just flying around dragon isles with no quest givers trying to figure out what’s broken.
The breadcrumb quest is in Stormwind and Org, and that isn’t even available. The issue is my quest log telling me to accept the breadcrumb intro quest but it isn’t even on the map. There is some kind of issue here preventing me from starting to quest in DF… i can use the boat and portal but it doesn’t even matter because no quests are available for me to get anywhere in DF.
It’s as if the game thinks I’ve already done all this stuff on this character which I haven’t even touched yet. It’s so strange. Going to try to keep relogging to see if it fixes this.

You could try a Full UI Reset, but the quests are there. If you are trying to rely on the map, then there might be some addon/corrupt UI interference.
But if you fly to the questgivers and interact with them, all quests are there. Also remember that the very first quests in Waking Shores are not at Wingrest Embassy. They are at the landing spot, and you do three intro quests to “unlock” the next quests at the Embassy.

EDIT: HA Just found out what was going on. Wrathion appeared in stormwind, but it’s no longer considered a campaign quest (the breadcrumb quest that is). I found Wrathion finally so I can finally start the intro quest that will let me start all the zone quests in DF.!!! None of the quest markers were showing on the map, so I had to fly around and find the quest myself. Ugh. Oh well, at least found out what the problem was. The game is suppose to show the initial campaign quest on the capital city map but it didn’t, and I forgot where Wrathion usually sits.
Yea, I was just there at the landing spot to see if there was anything to accept. It’s definitely some kind of UI bug I think. All addons have been disabled. I’m trying different things. Thanks for the help though
If I get this figured out I will definitely update it here. I have three dozen characters or so and this has never happened before. But like you said, with the new thing of being able to level in DF at the start it might be screwing with something.

Disabling addons is not a Full UI Reset. You need to follow the instructions, so the game will build a fresh, uncorrupted UI.
Yes, it’s new with the pre-patch.
I don’t want to discount your experience, because I know how frustrating it can be. But I’m running alts, as well, and I’m not experiencing anything like this. All the quests are there. You have the follow the zone storyline for the main campaign, but all side questlines are there and available.
I have not looked at Wingrest Embassy on an alt, so there could be a bug there to report. But there’s no more “The Dragon Isles Await” pop-up at 60. New alts go there automatically at level 10, unless they choose Chromie Time.
It wouldn’t hurt to add your experience to the Bug Report Forum, so they can look into it. Always better to give them more information, even if it is working properly.

So, I recently found this issue trying to play on one of my alts as well and I figured out the solution.
Campaign quests are now part of the warband, so when one character completes the quest, it wont show on other ones unless you have the proper map filter applied. “The Dragon Isles Await” wasnt showing up for me until I went into my map, and added the “warband completed quests” filter to it, then I saw all the campaign quests appear.
Hope this helps.
