People that spend more time looking at chat than playing the game is toxic.
It slows the dungeon down and makes people angry.

Honestly don’t really have this problem that often, but typically I am always talking to everyone and most of the time people reply, Sometimes they don’t :c
no one else thinks its funny.
I always say hello
I always thank the group at the end before I leave
Groups normally are fast paced so there is little time to talk in between
Ppl talk a lot in general chat
Ppl mostly talk in guild or discord
The pug community is toxic and saps every single atom of fun out of group content.
You have no idea what I would do to make this happen. This is the only thing I want to see going forward into the next expansion.
i always say hi at the beginning and thank you at the end. if people want to chat i’m happy to. if not, that’s cool too.
Its because with all the numerous social medias and the polarization too mmos have very little to offer in social aspects for casual play. Its turned into a loot shooter where people run the same thing so much they now just want to get in and get out asap because its become numbingly boring and its only incwntive is get that item.
Most the social aspect of this games been killed by blizzards own systems.
But I do give the custom hello and ty
If I talk its usually just to say weird stuff kind of like how I use the forums.
“Hey everyone how is everyone doing?”
Me: “constipated”
Honestly we could use more social interactions. Makes the tenth godforsaken time you run a thing SOMEWHAT better.
it’s hard to type when people are blazing ahead of you at a super fast pace
dude…nice!
I keep to myself for the most part but can be quit the windbag once provoked:) I’d like to mention many people prefer voice chat over typing in my experience. The toxic ones I wouldn’t concern yourself with. They feed off negative energy & the best thing to do is deprive them of it.
I get called bad names neckbeard etc… all the time & it doesn’t bother me at all; of course it helps that I could model irl making some internet rando’s opinion of me obsolete. I have made more friends doing M+ content than anything else on here. Some of us stick around after & make friends convos etc…
I don’t mind so much the lack of talking, but it’s the lack of reading that annoys me.
During Mechagon, I told the tank twice to stop pulling since I was OOM. Just give me less than 20 seconds to eat some mage food, but he wouldn’t stop pulling.
I can’t type and tank at the same time.
Unfortunately it’s game design choices that lead to the game becoming anti social and super toxic.
Adding in LFR and playing with players you know you will probably never see again after your run, as well as mythic plus being timed not allowing for anything other than constantly moving forward and not allowing time to be wasted just talking has caused it.
For me personally i rarely ever even look at the chat because it’s the same old thing of “hello everyone” at the start of a run, and “gg” at the end of the run. Anything else in between is usually someone being toxic about a mistake someone else made and typically just leads to childish arguing. There’s almost no in between, the start and end of runs are the same 2 generic lines from everyone and that’s about it so I don’t bother.
I mainly tank, in which case almost everyone thinks they are entitled to tell me what to do and what they want and it gets tiring so I just avoid even looking at the chat.
LOL that is one of the best movies ever and it would never get made today in this cancel culture we have
I was vote kicked once because two of the DPS killed themselves and the tank and healer were treating the run like a speed run. I was nowhere near them so it’s not my fault they died but hey whatever you know. If there’s one thing I’m sick of besides nobody being friendly in dungeon runs anymore is people treating every dang run like a speed run and if you mess up while learning what’s going on you’re voted out without being told why. Guess I’m not allowed to enjoy dungeons anymore with people because people want to speed run and be toxic these days
I found classic fun and all, but i was definitely more of a wrath of the lich king kind of a guy. It just had the best model overall. It had the perfect blend of skill floor, skill cap, and skill ceiling. In retail, i think the skill floor, skill cap and skill ceiling, have been reduced to much.
As much as i love retail, it is a bit to easy in most cases, especially for leveling up. Wrath of the lich king was just right. On top of that, all the old content i enjoyed leveling through was still there, all of which is removed from the retail game.
Yes this is agreed. I would argue that LFG was a mistake also. But wrath of the lich king was a good middle ground. And i still had people from my own server that i knew really well. But CRZ killed that in the overworld. As well as the general ease of leveling and lack of adversity and mechanics while leveling up as well.
It definitely seems like the only time you actually need to communicate in retail now is at the end game raids. I don’t understand the difficulties now. Way to many if you ask me. It is just to much to expect folks in retail to actually know a bit about what they are doing while leveling up, or if they don’t, to learn a bit. Like the maze section in wailing caverns. Not actually that hard if you know which directions to take.
LFG and LFR also gave way to just being able to vote kick for extremely random reasons. Way easier to find some new dps in 10 seconds than waste 5 minutes trying to help a brother or sister out. It all started in wrath of the lich king, but even by wrath of the lich king standards, the game still would not be casual enough by today’s crowd standards.
