That’s not what you are discussing. You, like always, are playing this tit for tat game of which faction has what, and how the Alliance always has so much more than the Horde in terms of land, power, represenation.
For a Horde fan you seem to really not think much of the Horde. Just play a Night Elf at this rate, if it’s so awesome and they are everywhere and get everything.
Whatever you do, just take your boo hooing somewhere else.
Smallioz clutches his night elf victim card so tightly that his cheetos sweat stains it as he lies, claiming night elves are nearly extinct.
I hate night elves as a rule.
Smallioz is lying, stating the night elves are nearly extinct and laying that at the horde’s feet. It’s objectively, categorically untrue.
He even lies, saying the Horde forced all night elves in the world to gather at the world tree, which is maybe the most laughably stupid thing I’ve read on this forum: and Zerde exists!
It’s not. It’s in-world commentary about the event vs your speculation on in-game representation. Which, are speculations you make with no short amount of bias. You are more unreliable than any unreliable narrator we could ask for in Azeroth.
It isn’t true though. Night elves aren’t nearly extinct.
The only evidence to support such a claim is a novella where Anduin comments “Far Too Few”, which is honestly pretty vague. It could mean anything to a smidge over the majority margin didn’t make it all the way to there are only a scant few night elves remaining.
We know that’s not true because the night elves had the numbers to form armies and win battles. There were enough for large numbers of fodder in suicide mission even.
Facts that hardly support that the nelves are close to extinction.
Ah, so Akiyass wants us to believe that in ten years all night elves decided “hey, we’ve lived everywhere else in Azeroth for Ten Thousand years, let’s go to a tree that was cursed and live there instead.”
“all night elves are dead but they’re capable of defeating the horde in TWO ZONES that are directly beside the largest horde city with the most horde resources in the entire multiverse.”
Before Warcraft 3 you would be indeed correct but after Warcraft 3 and the devastation that it brought there were a lot of NEs displaced. So they made Teldrassil their home.
They probably won’t and shouldn’t resettle where they used to be before WC3 because obviously Felwood and portions of Ashenvale are still corrupted.
Horde has occupied some portion of it and as evidenced by WoT they can just barge in there and kill them whenever they want.
So… why would they settle Felwood? Or Ashenvale or Hyjal for any long length of time when half of it is an uninhabitable mess thanks to both WC3 and cataclysm?
The writing is bad but that doesn’t change the reality of what the story IS rather than what it should be.
Yes because its their choice.
You ever seen Andiun tell people no? Its very hard for him.
Because its the only hope the NEs have at survival in the lore.
Its a nice location too.
Sure some will.
And I encourage it but the vast, vast majority will be in this new and more secure location safe from the Horde.
For all the night elves that were able to escape, the rally point was Darnassus where portals were being kept open for evacuation.
Just read Elegy without bias, get out of your own way.
Since you will call anything any NPC says in the novellas as unreliable narrators I dug up some quests from WoT where the player has first hand experience of Horde’s actions in Ashenvale and Darkshore and where the civilians may be running to or rallying to.
A Disturbance in Ashenvale
Approaching Delaryn:
The bodies… so many bodies…
We tried to set a trap for the Horde. It failed. We could not stop them.
Our outposts were taken by surprise. They fell one by one. The guards were poisoned.
And the civilians… not even they were spared. I only hope that some managed to flee before…
Forgive me, friend… who did you say you were? Are you the one Malfurion spoke of?
Among the soldier you are supposed to honor in this quest there are also many civilians dead like shopkeepers, villagers, innkeeper and so on.
The Light of Elune
My sisters lie slain on the soft earth of Ashenvale.
We are trained to expect losses. Soldiers die in battle. But this… this was a despicable attack, even for the Horde.
We have little time to grieve, but we are not savages like our enemy.
Please, . Help me say a prayer to Elune in honor of the fallen. Their wisps deserve the light of her blessing.
Rescue Effort
The suddenness of the Horde’s attack gave citizens here little time to flee. Many are hiding in Lor’danel, waiting for help. Locate these civilians and send them to safety. We’re counting on you, .
Long Away
For every foe we slay, two more take their place.
We are too few in number to stand toe to toe. We must fall back, . Strategy can yet overcome numbers.
We will regroup at Darnassus. I will send for Delaryn.
Now when did I say ALL night elves IN THE WORLD? Why must you lie?
The World Tree was more than a city. It was an entire land, home to countless innocents. How many night elves were elsewhere in Azeroth? Far too few. Now, they were all who remained of their people.
Sylvanas Windrunner had committed genocide.
They are literally spelling it out for you.
Night Warrior.
And the army of the blackmoon.
Horde needs to git gud.
Maybe get a Sun Warrior from a loa.
I didn’t ask how night elves escaped Teldrassi.
I asked you to source your lie that the Horde harried all night elves into the tree.
It was a rhetorical question though, because you have no source for your lie.
WHEN YOU LIED AND STATED THAT THE NIGHT ELVEN RACE WAS NEARLY EXTINCT.
The ones in Ashenvale mostly died. Delaryn comments on it.
The ones in Darkshore were mostly in Lor’Danel since it was the biggest town. The Horde struck too quickly and the player was tasked to save and get them to safety.
Teldrassil itself was the not only the safest place not currently under attack but also the main point of the evacuation.
I have already provided the quests explicitly proving this.
Literally Andiun is saying that. Not me.
I am QUOTING the lore written by Blizzard what is your problem?
You are so mad capslocking and spamming nonesense with strawman arguments. You don’t even address the full points. When I provide you the lore, source it and explain it you ignore it.
Honestly what is wrong with you? Its the lore. This is the story we have! if you are mad, be mad at Blizzard. I didn’t write this.
I am just telling you what the story is and what we can infer from it.
If you think I am wrong find an NPC and directly quote them saying the Night Elves are not nearly extinct. You asked for an explicit quote and I provided it. How about you provide your explicit quote.
No one denies it was genocide.
It is objectively, categorically no where near an extinction event.
Anduin is not omniscient.
He is not priestess of the Night Elves.
He does not know what we, the players, know: night elves own more of the world than any other player race in the game.
For ten thousand years they have owned more land than any player race in the game.
For ten years they did not commit a mass exodus of their owned lands to go to Teldrassil.
We know this because for those ten in character years, we have seen them all over the world, in their many lands that they own.
Right. Instead, lets move all our civilians and dump them onto the mad arch-druid’s cursed immortality tree. That makes perfect sense.
It’s awfully convenient for you to embrace the bad lore when it supports your viewpoints, isn’t it? We’re all just suppose to “accept it because that’s literally what it says”.
But when the nelf resolution is unsatisfactory for you it suddenly becomes “gaslighting”.
“We Didn’t Ask For This and We Don’t Want it!”
Reckless. And stupid.
I’m going to point and laugh at you if they decide to plant it back in Kalimdor.
