No new features (what if)

Hot take: I don’t actually care if there’s no new features, I don’t really care for new features anyway.

I want new zones, story, dungeons/raids, class ability and talent changes, etc.

I love delves and I’m always open to good new features. But we’ve had so many expansions now with really bad new features that we get pigeonholed into having to do that I wouldn’t even mind just not getting any new features at all.

The Wrath reveal trailer also kind of made it look like we’d have to sacrifice an existing character to become a death knight.

Which would have been really metal ngl

Are y’all forgetting that DF added a new class and a new race lol

Cataclysm added two new races and transmog, the latter of which is arguable the biggest feature they ever added to the game.

Expansion sales were poor. It was featureless. The removal of systems did nothing to correct this.

The Merriam-Webster dictionary has a number of definitions for the word “feature” such as a part of the face such as nose, eyes, the special attraction at the movies, etc.

But the one that seems to fit here is: “The cast or structure of anything, or a part of anything, … any marked peculiarity or characteristic such as a landscape.”

Seems pretty general.

evoker was a tremendous dud

I don’t count QoL changes to be real features, so TWW’s launch is basically a nothingburger.

Wait, I forgot about delves completely… lol.

Touché. I forgot that was the debut of transmog.

So like TWW and DF?

Dragonflying/Skyriding is just revamped flying.

Warbound is just slapping Account Bound onto most if not all items. Delves are a half baked feature, hoping they get better as time goes on.

Borrowed power was considered an expansion feature, do we really want that again?

Yes because I am a loser.

I’d be happy if they had an expansion where they didn’t add any new systems or content types but instead focused on expanding our characters.

New specs, more hero talent options, class/race combos, more interesting talent trees and new spells, animations, etc.

At least to me, the classes feel pretty dull after 20 years. Edit: especially when two of the recent classes added may as well not exist for those of us who don’t want to play the single race option they are tied to.

Feature bloat is a real problem in games, and people wanna bring that business here? We already have a ton of stuff to do.

Touching up the 15 years worth of zones and old content we’ve let rot for that entire time?

Maybe give the animations and emotes a touchup we’ve let decay to what they are or butchered to nothing?

WoW has 20 years worth of content, the only reason people are “bored” and come and go every season is cause we’ve pigeonholed them into the last 2 years of content because it’s cheaper than giving multiple worlds worth of zones functional facelifts.

This is thr future I dont see them adding something beyind hero talents. They will keep ironing and smoothing the edges but I see no new system being added. Maybe they add a new row max

Regardless of what they say in response to this the people on these forums will play. They would play even if the game was actively causing them to burst into flames irl. They’d just post a lot about being on fire, but they would not quit.

I see plenty of them :dracthyr_shrug:

I did not forget. I just don’t find Evoker enjoyable.

They are the least played class according to the statistics that I have seen.
