The biggest offense against worgens is the fact that, when they redid the models, they kept the hair as part of the body instead of making it separate. They can’t even give worgen true hairstyles - and not just “how would you like your bangs today?” - without redoing the model again so they have a skull. The upgrade to the models was so stupidly done.
Hearthstone even gave a perfect example of how a worgen would look like with actual normal hair (and a paladin). They also did one with the current new worgen model look. Look at how nice worgens look with long straight hair. Give us these Blizzard!

Yes they’re trolling it’s rather obvious.
That worgen pally looks so good I just want to cry. I want that hairstyle for my DK!
Hopefully Blizzard reconsiders their stance on this. Surely taking a slow and steady approach to gradually bringing out more customization options is better than just …abandoning it for the rest of the expansion. When many other systems in the game seem to be riddled with bugs or other issues (imbalances for example in PvP instancing), the one good thing would at -least- have been additional character customization options coming out on a regular, if fairly spaced out, basis. But, nothing at all?
It begs the question on if we’re going to see any other problems with this expansion actually meaningfully addressed at this point. Damn I’m already terrified the grind will get worse without steps taken to at least address the Anima system. It takes too long to get 1000 Anima >_<
It really feels like they gave up halfway through the development process and night elves where among the lucky ones who got most of the attention. Another thing is how flat out weird some choices are: Night elves have a separate button for scars, but humans have their scars bound to certain faces.
When have we gotten more customizations in the middle of an expansion?
THAT is weird, good catch. Yeah, I noticed it too when going through face customization on a couple of Human alts I made early on in the pre-patch. It’s a rather odd design choice, when they’vve shown they can clearly make the scars separate options with one playable race, but made them bound to certain faces for other player races.
And yet, void elves got about as much as the rest of the core races.
Alliance bias much?
It will become cross realm once the alliance leaderboard is filled. They are currently at 88/100 guilds.
wow needs to go back to BC/Wrath days.
Come now, you expect a company with Blizzard’s resources to be able to do more than an indie company? Ha!
It’s really dumb how they conduct themselves, ain’t it?
I have great news for you…
Decided to end my sub over this. May seem drastic to some people, but I just can’t get into the fantasy of my characters anymore (especially my main, who’s a Nightborne). I need to be able to enjoy the look of my character and be able to tweak it enough so it fits with the archetype I imagined for it. It was fine when there were future customization options to look forward to, but now it’s just months/years with more of the same and I don’t feel like spending money on that. I do sincerely hope they change their minds, though!
I have enjoyed wow since 2005, and never once considered cancelling my subscription, but seeing the tonedeafness of the art team saying there will be no more customization options really killed the vibe for me.
I’m surprised at how much of a letdown it’s turned out to be, the longer i think about it.
Customization went out the window because they are way behind in content. Look at the major updates of BfA and Legion. Shadowlands is far behind so anything not needed, isn’t going to get done anytime soon.
they already showed it, no matter how much Activision forces him to make a mobile game with full evil, no matter how much Hearthstone succeeded in mobile games knowing that their video game has a PC port.
Blizzard was never linked to mobile games, and that is not going to help your appearance much even though it makes a lot of money thanks to the whales, especially those that come from China.
That is true but customization is the easiest olive branch they can extend to bring back players.
More content is simply harder to materialize given the constraints they are under currently. But leaning on their A+++ rock star art team is something they should seriously consider!
We don’t need more players, we need more adventurers, and people who want to adventure.
If you want to adventure just go to Disney world without a mask yo.
