Yeah they really shot themselves in the foot with this one.
Other games are releasing some customization options, or even gear, with almost every single update.
If they would do just a little bit, at the very least for every major patch, they would earn a lot of good will. People would be happy and they would have something they could be looking forward to. Meaning more players are happy, leading to more subs. This would be such an easy win for them.
Speaking of quality, how they handled scars for Worgen and Humans feels like a completely different design philosophy compared to other races who received scar options.
It feels REALLY bad for Worgen, Humans, Kul Tirans, and Pandaren to be stuck with scars being linked to faces (and for Humans, scars also being linked to skin colors and scars NOT being available to ANY of the original skin colors) while Orcs and Night Elves get to have scars as their own category of options.
Also, the new customization options for Humans feel very rushed and incomplete. For Humans, we didnāt get the dark brown eyes featured at Blizzcon 2019, we didnāt get the eye shape options from Blizzcon, and they never implemented the blending textures for the new hairstyles that were also present at Blizzcon. You literally canāt recreate the Asian faces they showed at Blizzcon at all. Even the African faces shown at Blizzcon appear to have different eye shapes than what was actually made available in the final product.
They didnāt even separate out the facial hair options into mustache, beard, and sideburns for Humans until VERY late into development.
Many races still need to get MANY new options, but even some races that did get a lot need some attention and polish, as well as a few extra options like scar options that are separate from face/skin color.
Also, whatās up with 7.3 promotional art and the character creation icons featuring customization options that they never implemented at all, like scars for female Tauren, a new hairstyle and mustache for Humans, a new hairstyle for Orcs, and a new beard for Night Elves?
What happened to these customization options? Did they accidentally lose the files when they moved to remote work or something? They could easily add all of these options in Shadowlands patches unless they got deleted or lost in a storage failure or something.
Perhaps Iām making a mistake, but it seems Blizzard buried this topic on their reddit page?

Itās not deleted at least, but it seems weird to me.

We donāt get tier sets.
We donāt get customization.
Weāre not even getting raid sets, as theyāre reusing the legendary models.
Theyāre selling these ācovenant setsā as universal, where all I see is them cutting corners and making 1 set per covenant instead of 4.
I canāt help but feel that theyāre having to cut corners anywhere they can just so they can keep up. I think the content drought is going to be harsh until 9.1, if not all throughout Shadowlands.
So, it turns out it isnāt hard to fit human hairstyles to worgen (the females, at least). The hard part is that they have no back of their head or neck; the mane isnāt hair, itās literally part of their body.

And Iām going to point out this is something they COULD have changed, since they literally just revamped the models, but instead they chose to leave worgen without even the option of real hairstyles.
It was crazy how little customization some races got. Female draenei had like nothing especially when you compare their options to humans, the most shocking to me was female gnomes they donāt even have a second tab like every other race got for additional options. The customization options are really lacking for a lot of races.
Seems like it. It should be at the top as it has the most upvotes of any recent post on the subreddit. Plus other threads posting the same complaint have been moved further down. It looks like theyāre trying to make this all go away.

Yep Iāve seen this too and I canāt find it any longer on their reddit page. This seems very desperate to me. Like you wrote, it feels like they want the topic to go away. I guess they did not expect people to care. They look so out of touch, itās mind boggling.

Itās not my work. The person who made all of the artwork is called Simaia and they are currently getting death threats and being told to off themselves because people donāt like them expressing their opinion.
Either way they need to go back to school then.
The devs need to not be so arrogant and learn to get better at their job because the community has shown time and again that even a single person can do some incredible work in a timely manner.
If ACTVI considers WoW a dead end they need to go back to business school because clearly they havenāt learned enough to run a company yet if they think this franchise is dead. If the proper effort was put in WoW between classic servers and retail could sit at ~20 million active subs.
They already killed off reforged despite the massive potential for profit in it. These people donāt know what they are doing. They want instant money in an industry that does not provide that. They have to invest into the players and the games if they want the insane profits.

More evidence to support them trying to silence us and sweep it under the rug. I wished one of the gaming sites would do an article on this and bring this to light. Itās one thing to break promises, but itās an entirely other thing to try to coverup peopleās right to air their grievances with your decision.
Iām more shocked at that voice actor response and the other Jerk. no wonder there a division between causal and pompous jerks whats even more appalling is the fact twitter has not removed both post. double standard you bet just like blizzard.
