Which is saying…
No, I did not read it as a confirmation, I’m just stating the obvious: you took one piece of text, missed one key word, and then want to say “CONFIRMED NO NEW ALLIED RACES IN DRAGONFLIGHT”. You know what you’re doing, you’re not stupid.
“No allied races currently planned for Dragonflight” means for the entire expansion which is not what Ion said.
So you only read the title and not the text in the topic?
No it doesn’t. It means “currently.” Nowhere does “currently” mean “never for the entire expansion.”
You want to blame someone for wording you misunderstood and got angry about, blame Wowhead. It’s a quote directly from them.
It seems like the communication breakdown is between what Wowhead and Ion said.
Wowhead is saying “no allied races for Dragon Flight” but it sounds like Ion said “not at launch?” Is that the gist of it?
Ion clearly said “AT LAUNCH” and people are not quoting that piece of text, why?
Wowhead. They’re quoting them.
If that’s what he really said, then WoWHead did a poor job with the transcript.
You’re sweet!
And yeah, I presented it a little sensationally (very moderately, I might add) because I want to see people talking about this. I want Blizzard to see what people think about this, for good or for ill. Take it from someone with a very measured personality that can be overly verbose: technical bland titles don’t get clinks, and meandering blocks of texts do not generate discussion.
Because “currently” means the same thing. Again, take it up with Wowhead if you want to be outraged.
That was me. I agree magic rogues is a more modern thing it’s modern era the playable Tauren rogues are coming to. We should probably assume rogues could always do magic.
Not that rogue lore in classic prevented Tauren rogues from existing anyway.

Not really. There are currently no plans. That doesn’t say there are never any plans. Do people not know what “currently” means?
No, it doesn’t. When you say “Not currently planned for Dragonflight” it means they don’t have ANY plans for the entire expansion but yes, they could change their mind. When you say “Not currently planned for Dragonflight at launch” it means you are not planning to add a new one at the start of it, but maybe you do have it after launch.
And because I view it as immaterial. Ion always uses terminology like this. They clearly have no intent to add Allied Races in Dragonflight. This “we’ll add it when it makes sense”-line is just to make that denial more palatable.
Yeah I just listened to it. Typical double talk that probably means “no.”
Yes. It absolutely does.
“I don’t currently plan to drive to Columbus.”
That doesn’t mean I’ll never drive there. As a matter of fact, I’m driving there in a couple of weeks. But I’m still not currently planning to go there.
Why would we need another allied race? We’re getting an entire new race.
But we can ride dragons, dude…DRAGONS!
A rehashed female Worgen model with rehashed Human and Belf that can only be one class and there are people who have zero interest in a race that can only be one class.
Allied Races— or at least customizations for current races that need them— would be well received by those who have no interest in that experiment thing.
Yet I still cannot ride dragons as the race that invented the concept in the franchise: Dragonmaw Orcs.
