No New Allied Races in Dragonflight CONFIRMED!

We don’t but I always welcome allied and new races.

I would rather see more race/class combos for what we currently have. Getting a tauren Mage, HMT Mage and HMT Priest is a perfect start to DF for me.

I do know, but stating “at launch” is way better to draw attention from the readers to what was said by the developer. WoWHead’s made several blunders in their articles as of late (which is fine, it’s a free website and they are human), so I don’t exclude de possibility.

The matter is: If Ion did indeed say “at launch” (I didn’t watch the interview), putting it in the transcript seems like rather important piece of information imo.

“Driving to Columbus is not currently planned” would be more appropriate which in this case makes me think you won’t go even next week.

That comment didn’t even make sense. lol

Again, if you’ve got a problem with the quote, take it up with Wowhead. Don’t accuse the OP.

The majority of Allied races are nothing but rehashes. And cheap ones at that.

And a new race is a new race no matter what skeleton it uses.

Btw, in Kobold’s defense, for him to specify “at launch” does seem like a walk back. He didn’t have to say that. Maybe it’s nothing, maybe they have something in their back pocket like a “break glass in case of emergency” allied race for the middle or end of DF.

Well, that’s what I’m doing. You’re also not stupid, you know they took a quote and changed the words a bit. EVEN if to you it means the same thing, you know this created confusion and it’s ambiguous at least.

That’s the whole point! Freebie wins! There are so many physically similar but culturally distinct options out there! Low hanging fruit!

And yet people enjoy them. Being an Allied Race usually means it’s a rehash. It was Blizz’s answer to subraces. We know this. But it’s still more customization and new racials and something interesting that Dan be MANY classes. The new experiment can’t even do that.

It’s also sad and pathetic that KT got a new unique rig and model, but the new Hero class/race didn’t.

This isn’t Wowhead.

Wowhead summarized. They always do. Relax.

I see it more as “Hey, you got a brand new RACE and CLASS”, we can add more in the future, but we don’t have to add them all at launch, especially if you don’t even know what the Tuskarr or Gnolls are up too yet!

I’m open to that. But I wouldn’t hope for it. It certainly reads to me as softening the blow (just as he did for Shadowlands races) rather than, “Oh, shoot, I just remembered we do have an Allied race!” Say what you will about Ion, but the man comes prepared.

They summarized by removing 1 word that is key to what was said? Bad summarization don’t you agree? You don’t have to summarize something by just removing 1 word.

That’s a very generous interpretation, especially when you account for precedent.

I don’t expect anything I’m just saying I get where Kobold is coming from. His wording on that was really poor.

Yep. Not much different than when they screwed up Warlords crafted gear and said “we’ll fix that in a later patch.” SL ran out of patches.

Or when they said they’ll work on the guild permissions and never touched them.

But people forget they are adding a brand new race, and are complaining there are no new races? Do you see what I mean? It’s a BRAND NEW RACE with TONS of customization like never before, yet people are saying there’s no new races!

That’s a big only if it means waiting till 11.0.

You need to understand that this experiment thing isn’t something that some are looking forward to. They’re rehashed female Worgen rig and just another human/Belf model again that can only be one class. Just one. That’s it.

To some, it’s too rehashed and too limiting. Regular races add the ability for more classes and specs and roles that this experiment thing doesn’t have.

Omg, this is wrong in so many levels. It’s a brand new rig with new animations btw. I don’t get where you’re coming from lol
