No more WeakAuras, DBM, Hekili? DETAILS?

I expect a complete addon implosion, breaking most of the frameworks so many are built upon, as casualties. I also expect most addon developers to walk away. Purely speculation, but at the extreme end, it could be the beginning of the actual end of wow.

No. And this is why I always recommend watching the webcast, because it’ll be good information to understand what they’re talking about, instead of listening to the extreme doomsaying.

You just have faith that I do not possess. People having information is great; but your optimism is just as speculative as my pessimism.

It’s not even optimism. It’s reading the black and white text and watching the interviews.

And my counter to that is blizzard has said a LOT of things, so; I’ll see what happens rather than believe what they say will happen.

The whole process will take years to finalize. There is no need for panic.

Right, so regardless of the final outcome, itll be a bumpy, rocky road, many will likely get off the ride before it makes it there. But… We’ll see

Yeah, it is great to have these discussions already and I guess that is why Blizzard let it slip that early.

But I doubt the end result will be as dire as many fear. People just fear change and project their worst fears regarding gameplay changing too much, because these addons have become integral to the game.

I expect many more interviews / communication regarding these issues in the months and years to come.

And how often do they back track or immediately change something when they get push back?

So even if it does happen. I’m not worried lol.

Idea behind such, or one possibility, is it will enable people to reduce focus on rotation and increase focus on mechs. Currently there are some that are masters at avoiding or dealing with mechs but their DPS suffers, or those that hit the rotation right but die to mechs, and it does take both to progress.

As long as they don’t mess with my ElvUI and WeakAuras I don’t care what they do.

their californian view on maturity is laughable at best.

Not sure they’re getting rid of Helkili, they’re just trying to make it obsolete.

I will leave without Zperl, Blizzard’s unit frames should be a crime against gaming.

Recount shall rise again!!

good post agreed gotta stop with the hysterics

i think it’s fine to express our concerns before the changes actually happen. i don’t want anybody coming back later and saying “well we told you what the changes were going to be, and nobody had any objections then…”

Sure that’s totally fair. But a lot of these threads are over-dramatic concerns about changes that we don’t know much about yet or acting like they are just going to remove all combat addons overnight without any changes made to the game.

I do think its good to offer feedback about things we actually know or have actually been said. For example, I think that their version of a rotation helper that is available to try right now is absolute garbage compared to Hekili, primarily due to the way that it presents the info compared to Hekili. But its nothing to be outraged over because they are not removing Hekili now and likely wont until theirs is better or other changes are made to the game.

Concerns and feedback are different than outraged misinformation.

to be fair, they needed to get rid of weak auras a long time ago. It’s the reason for all the bloat. People don’t care how complicated the rotation gets when they have weakauras doing everything but click for you…

Spoken like someone who doesn’t know what Weakauras are.
