Seriously, no new class. No new specs. No class skins. One single batch of customization options, leaving out ARs. No new race/class combos. No new races.
Covenant cosmetics can’t and won’t carry this expac for 2 or more years.

That’s a cop out. A single artist could literally knock out 3-4 new hair colors in a single evening after dinner. Hell, I could and I’m not a professional graphics artist.
Exactly. I follow animators that can make models with a proper skeleton rig in a DAY
What about copy/pasting eye, skin and hair from the same race and just swaping colors?
There’s no excuse to not do at least that for most races.

I can certainly say I’m unhappy. Having worked first hand with the models to figure out how hard it would be to add new options, learning that it’s not actually too hard to swap hairstyles and add new things, being told that they’re listening to feedback and will add things throughout Shadowlands, and offering said feedback extensively, and then being told there won’t be any options and that they’re “still listening to feedback” just has me utterly burned.
There’s zero excuse in my frank opinion that a triple A company such as blizzard isn’t releasing monthly customisation options. If they were delayed or unfinished and slated for patch 9.1.5 I would begrudgingly accept it. It’d suck but I wouldn’t feel as strongly about it being essentially an expansion launch feature. There are many options that exist on NPCs that they literally could flip a tick for being a player option and they just don’t do it.
I’ll elaborate. It’s mostly the rendering that takes awhile in animations for the stuff I follow.

This for example. This guy can get a model ready without rendering in about a day or two. The animation tests take a few weeks to finish and render but the actual creation process is freaking fast
I mean ready as in “it’s got bones in it” as well not just a empty shell

People go NUTS for customization, HOW have Blizzard NOT jumped on this ship and constantly rode it to keep people here?!
People will scour the EARTH to unlock stuff. They will rip apart realms! Example; Weapon skins in legion!
They should have a dedicated team!

A small group.
That work purely on cosmetics.
Every patch.
Doesn’t even have to be a HUGE output.
Even a few hair styles. Couple of costumes here or there. ANYTHING.

Well I’m disappointed in this news. My Night borne toons potential to look fabulous is dashed.
How many mounts are in the game? There’s tons and tons and tons of mounts.
Yet they couldn’t be bothered with more makeup, tattoos or hair options.
When they promised a customization OVERHAUL (their words not mine) and we see a lot of features being de-coupled for a change as with night elf beards being seperate from eyebrows. There’s still things that are tied to one another that shouldn’t be tied together. Eye color should let you change the left eye independently from the right eye for example. Instead they just add in more options to both eyes universally to account for the different combinations. And a lot of other races still have their mustache tied to their beard. I was thinking they were making a lot of back end tweaks.
Stuff that will allow them to more easily add in things like height or weight, some time later.
It looks like that didn’t happen.
