No M+ for Old Men (40+)

I kind of though they were going away from the grinder direction with the whole “Respecting player’s time” talk at blizzcon. I think they may have mistook who their base is. Almost everyone I know is middle age in wow. Anyhow, thanks for the thoughtful feedback.

I hear you, I doubt I will complete the story, much less all the delves, dungeons, etc on more than maybe 2…3 if I’m lucky

Speak for yourself. Its not age, maybe you’re just …unhealthy? I’m gaming with people older than you and they’re doing great.

Legitimately a skill issue.

Look, doing what you did is outstanding, worthy of respect! I just don’t think it’s cool to throw that out when it has nothing to do with the topic at hand, and shame the dude on top of that afterwards.

I mean, if you don’t understand that, I don’t have any other comment.
Respect for your accomplishment

what, like covid? Asthma? Cancer? you people here are dumb

How did you defeat my position? I never moved from it, and you just reinforced what I have been saying this entire time. That is amazing what all you been able to accomplish, that is fantastic! I’m also sorry to hear about the condition, however that is truly inspiring to see you keep moving forward. That is what I was getting at, my whole point was not letting anyone or anything stop you.

I had OCD since I was a child, to say the least it consumed my life and led to tons of bullying all throughout school and my parents being boomers didn’t believe in getting me help with my condition. I suffered until I was 30 and decided I was going to get help on my own, which I did and got my condition under control, fixed my trainwreck of a career, I got promoted to engineer in my factory, and I am 2 months away from proposing to the love of my life. Things I would never have thought capable until i quit making excuses for myself. That is why i am someone who hates seeing posts about people letting something like age keep them from something.

I agree and disagree with the original poster at the same time.

Everyone ages differently which affects our bodies in unique ways, a great example would be when I personally was in my 30’s I was able to handle 250 APM while playing Starcraft. now I am lucky if I can handle 150+ APM.

Reflexes and ability to quickly react does decline with age and no amount of training can change that. Its the reason there are no Pro Gamers right now in any ESports 40+, and that former pros can no longer keep up.

The biggest issue I see with the current state of the game is it has turned into very much a twitch gaming environment (What I call a game that is highly reliant on reflexes and being able to hit a certain key in under 2 seconds when a proc occurs) Sadly most of the developers are catering to the younger generations right now when it comes to game play mechanics.

Marathons are not the same as reflex’s, so its a bad comparison. Look at Football, Hockey where most athletes retire by the age of 35 its a better comparision

It’s not the age, but the mileage, that matters.

My body is like that of a 90 year old. Thank Rheumatoid Arthritis and the long term effects of COVID for that. lol

Wow isnt overwatch 2 or valorant/cod…i have no idea what the age argument is about. You dont need split second twitch reflexes and reaction timing. Maybe half a brain helps.

It may seem like it, but I hear it takes years to get to that point.

True. Also, the irony is that she just passed away recently.

Ahhh, no.

Just being honest here, as you get older (or as I like to say, gain more mileage on the odometer of Life), reflexes and reaction timing is a real thing.

I’ve literally watched my finger move towards one key on the keyboard, me thinking I’m going to press that key, and at the last second, my finger moves laterally and presses the key next to it.

For those of you who love gaming as much as I do, be prepared for not being ‘gud’ because of age as you get older, its a real thing. And yes, YMMV (for when that happens to you), but eventually we fall victim to entropy. All of us.

Have a nice day! :grinning:

We’re all different and not the same. What’s easy to you and me might be very difficult to do for other people so never shame them or tell them what to do because it doesn’t help in any way and has the opposite effect. Be kind.

Grats on the weight loss!

Noooooooo.

Nope. Not happening.

I know. I’m still sad. :frowning:
