Delves are definitely a step in the right direction but they’re currently a dead end because they don’t provide enough valorstones/crests for upgrading and they’re capped at 603 ilvl gear. The loot pool is also severely limited specifically when it comes to trinkets. Delves need to be a much more robust system if they’re to keep players engaged. There has to be a happy medium between hitting an artificial gearing cap in just one week worth of delves and then only getting 1 upgrade per week (assuming you even get an upgrade at all) and the the nonstop 24/7 treadmill grind that M+ has become.
Age not an issue. I’m almost 57. The key is…wait for it…retirement
That and just doing you at your pace and enjoyment. I love delves for the pacing and rewards. In DF, I started to hate the grind of M+ raids and dungeons just to gear up items that were replaced within one week of TWW.
I have determined to enjoy all the quests and delves, collect Great Vault rewards for Delves only and basically shun the M+ toxicity until I have nothing else to do. And I only run four characters. Can’t even imagine having to grind on more than that amount
Oh you sweet sweet Summer child.
I was doing great until I hit 58. So, brace for impact. lol
There’s truth to that, but you don’t want to spend all of your retirement time in front of the PC (also harder to stay sitting for many hours as you get older). So blow that savings on cruises and such too.
Where did I shame him? I’m saying age is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Colonel sanders founded KFC at 62, so I’m just saying wow is still in the cards for him. I’m saying he can do it, I just see so many people crying for everything to change for them and that isn’t how it works. Maybe on here it does who knows.
I’m 42 and I have no issues aside for the normal struggles everyone shares.
Thank you! It was hard work but it paid off!
To be fair, WoW has the fastest GCDs of any MMO I’ve played by a very large margin. This is the only MMO off the top of my head where it can get below 1s.
I’d know, I play Enhancement. Fury feels slow comparatively.
Colonel Sanders should be ashamed for selling that processed protein that they call ‘chicken’.
If you didn’t drown that stuff in their gravy…
I was complaining about being 60 and trying to do Outlaw and being miles behind target dummy dps. Anyway, I think folks should understand aging is different from different people. I don’t think we can call Mythic+ a “skill” problem since if you don’t find a guild with likeminded folks, you are pugging. And that isn’t a skill. That’s just a game of patience. And then, yes, you’re probably going to get kicked around by the instances that Blizzard has poorly balanced because that’s what they do (or don’t do).
I’m filtered by the application process. I hate online dating and I hate M+ group application. I have a complex about rejection.
WoW is now a slower Diablo, but with much less loot. Thank goodness for the Auction Hall, lol.
I just love this stuff, congrats! But coming from a 60+ year old it’s not that simple. Been there myself and did some impossible life altering things. Listen up on this part: super ultra-success stories are rare, they are not the norm.
Early 40 year olds - looking back it’s the terrible twos all over again. Get back with me in twenty years - you’ll understand.

You sound like me…also over 40.
Maybe you don’t need the highest ilvl gear in the game? Just a thought?
Oh ya know, just an excuse to flame the game.
Nothing out of the ordinary for gd.
Over 60 and 5’5 450lbs so I don’t understand why this guy is saying older people cant compete or be healthy. Hogwash.
Its good to have for when you are playing a tank spec and you want to do world quests and such, otherwise the TTK is soooo long.
Switch specs.
NO U!
Seriously though, I don’t enjoy playing the other specs.
So better gear for me is the path I take.
Have a nice day.
