I saw the new survey for the special edition and they are gauging interest on Boosting, and not only the same as before but now an extra option to boost DKs. This is ridiculous. This is partially a direct cry to the Blizzard to not be greedy (pointless effort, I know). However, the players that keep buying this are actively letting Blizz figure out how much they can penny and dime you for a convenience to something that is part of the game. It kills the open world and all those heirlooms that are new to Wrath are going to have much less meaning.
Players have already overwhelmingly voted in favor of boosts by buying them. Everyone had the option of simply “not” buying a boost but apparently they could not put their money where their mouth is. For every 1 person like me that didn’t buy one, probably 10 others did buy one. Blizzard can see the stats. They don’t care how many of us complain on forum if 10x as many people buy the thing. Many complain about it but still go buy one, like those folks that complain about retail but still go buy the next expansion.
These are progression servers stop treating them as if they are somehow going to last forever.
Let people play the xpac they want which is what the boost is for…
Y’all truly believe these servers are somehow special…we all quitting when wotlk is over anyway…
Progression servers.
Is this an even newer surgery than the one sent put several weeks ago?
There was nothing in the survey about boosting DK’s. They already start at level 55, and given that they didn’t allow the boost on Draenei or Blood Elves, i’d say DK’s will get the same treatment. It’d be kind of pointless to boost a Dk anyway.
Also, boosting in no way harms the open world. It’d be just as dead as it is now, boosting or not.

The new survey just released on WoWhead showed a DK level boost. Please check and come back. It’s horrific
Awh crap it’s real.
So i went and read it. Kind of strange really to pay $40 to boost a DK 10 levels, but tbh i see no harm in it.
Now it makes me wonder, if they plan on having a short prepatch, and providing the 68 Dk boost for people who won’t have time to make it from 58-68 before WOTLK launches.
But again, I don’t see a big deal in a level 68 Dk boost. Greedy? Sure. But there were a TON of people complaining that they couldn’t get their Blood elf/Draenei character to 60 before TBC launched because of the short prepatch, so this would be helpful to those with limited time.
Who cares rofl.
As if you’re turning in your bed losing sleep cuz the dk boosted to 68 lmfao
I don’t know… not having to fight a bazillion DK’s in the starter zone for quests doesn’t actually seem that bad… I wouldn’t use it but I wouldn’t complain about having some room to function either.
I read it as you would get a non-DK boost to 68 AND a DK boost to 68 with that package.
It’s just silly for people to care…
I feel as if people just need to feel unhappy about everytbing.
If they ain’t crying about something they just aren’t living.

I guess we’ll disagree on this. I think it’s a greedy affront to the design of the game and I disagree with boosting being a thing in Classic period. I don’t think it was designed with that in mind and ruins part of the game. I still enjoy the game sure, but I really dislike the boost.
It’s kind of weird that the more expensive of the two bundles comes with less.
Even weirder that they sent out a survey gauging interest on bundles for a game they haven’t even announced yet.
Come on man, people did put their money where their mouth is. The complainers were small part of the population. As you said, “Players have already overwhelmingly voted in favor of boosts.” I thought one boost per account with weak gear and was fine. I ok with another boost in wrath, just not for dks.
It’s a progression server.
That’s literally all these servers are, why do people keep treating them as anything different.
Buying a boost to play the xpac the prog server is on just makes sense.
Then why not just release Northrend and have everyone just start at 68 without making it a paid feature?
Not if it comes with a regular boost and a DK boost. It would also be the only way to boost a DK so that would increase its value.
Because thats not how a business works
That’s not how this business works.
There’s plenty of other games who offer for free what Blizzard charges for and still turn a profit.
