That’s certainly the case with me. I don’t enjoy delves or M+ as they are presently. I tolerate them only to keep running on the gear treadmill like some brainwashed guinea pig.
If that’s the case why not take the fresh character into a +4 or +5? One where it will kill you if you don’t play perfectly.
Lower keys cannot provide this at all?
How is this conversation even still going? They’ve already said they are happy with delve rewards as they are. Delves aren’t getting nerfed, period.
This is just a straight up repeat of what we tried to do to M+ back in those days. Exactly the same talking points, with the same objective in mind. It didn’t work then, and it’s not going to work now.
Purely for the shade at this point I think. That delves won’t be nerfed makes some unhappy and they don’t want to let the dream slip away.
Elitist trolls that are frothing at the mouth because delves hurt their fragile ego.
Example:
Armchair speculation with a mixture of copium
Because new people keep popping in to engage with the loot karens who are more than likely just trolling.
I wish people would at least try to make it funny though
That’s been my complaint lately with T10-11 delves. I can’t get better gear to take those on. I can try and grind my way through them. but it’s a slow process and Brann running into another pack (something I can’t control) can kill an attempt. M+, M+ raiding, and T10-11 delves should all be able to stand on their own as end game content.
I don’t have much faith in choices that will be made, so I’ll enjoy my solo delves before they nerf rewards, and then probably ignore them, like I ignore M+. Less time playing anyway might be good in the long run.
Because then the unavoidable damage becomes lethal which isn’t much fun either. The lower level keys are designed to have more play where players can make mistakes and not be severely punished. That’s good for the game overall as there needs to be a place for folks new to the mode to not be dead every pull; it just doesn’t do much for a player like me.
I can’t say it’s impossible, but I haven’t found a scenario where this has been the case for me since SL (I started playing M+ in BFA). Things I do automatically at this point from years of muscle memory will mean I am unlikely to make some catastrophic mistake in a low key. And since it’s tuned such that the simple mistakes can be recovered from, it’s hard to get the same feeling as a high key by just going in at a lower gear level.
That’s honestly a fair response. I’ve not played high keys since Legion so I’ve been out of it for a long time. I was under the assumption (wrongly so it seems) that just having lower gear in lower keys would basically give the same sort of challenge. I appreciate your input.
Me being social:
Joins M+
“Hey everyone, howzit?”
25 minutes of conversing with guildies on Discord
OK, so now does any one want to do anything else while we repair?
Life goes on
Did ypu try joining a guild? Generally social interactions happen in guilds. Discord is another biggy. Who wants to type when we can verbally communicate?
Who wants to do either when I’m goaling my targets without it? WoW is such a social game that all of the socialization happens on a third party app.
They have had to outsource just to provide this aspect in an MMO. Does that tell you nothing?
For you maybe, I’m in a great guild & we communicate all the time.
For me and thousands if not millions of others my friend. I get what I want done in this game. I just don’t need a guild or a schedule to do it.
WoW stopped being a “social game” the moment that random queues became a thing. Some of us have adapted to the individual approach and others have formed a collective to accomplish what they want. It is simply an option now.
If people want to complain about socialization then complain about the things that took it from you as a requirement, not the people who have adjusted to it not being a requirement.
But as far as we are down this slope I will never take “delves are ruining muh social aspect” as a serious complaint.
Then don’t complain about it? Lol
It is a social game. Act like all the other mmos don’t use discord. Ever play eve online? Lol.
Yeah, it literally tells us nothing.
I’m not complaining about it. You are.
I am in fact grateful that I do not have to rely on people such as you to get anywhere in the game. Blizzard has done a lot of people a favor with delves. Your approach to this discussion tells me no less than that.
You are the one complaining about people playing a MMO without socializing. What I’m doing is pointing out that I don’t need to be a social butterfly to have fun on WoW and that I’m glad for that.
“All you have to do for this game to be social is join my guild and stay in my discord waiting with bated breath for a chance to socialize” isn’t actually a counter argument here.
Would much rather just log in and run a delve, pug a raid, or join a key when my time allows it. Might even do one with the wife for the “social” aspect.
Fwiw I am also a person constantly saying “pugging isn’t as bad as people make it out to be” so I do stand on my principles here. I don’t complain about the bed I have made for myself.
What Ion doesn’t seem to “get” is that the types of players who enjoy doing Delves are NOT the types of players who enjoy doing M+.
I’m going to say that a greater portion of players are going to find the two mutually exclusive.
M+ will say delves are “too easy” and “boring” while Delvers are in Delves because they don’t like having to do manual matchmaking and having to please other players or beat time limits and I’d be willing to surmise a guess that very few players from either camp WANT to be pushed into the other.
It’s a necessary evil, though I agree that <6 should be made easier and gear should be 100% drop to bring those in line with delves. Maybe make it so that doing an M+6 is faster than doing a Delve and make it so that such gear always drops, and then you’d have reason to do M+6 instead of delves if that’s your thing.
Irony.
I made a simple statement of fact. Delves, from the mouths of the devs, were intended for solo play but can be run in groups. And of course, something meant for solo play will be easier in a group, what are you even trying to say there?
Something can do both, despite it’s intent. Toilets were meant for one person to use at a time but I wouldn’t be surprised to find out two or more people found a way to use the same toilet at the same time. That doesn’t change the intent of the toilet.
Honestly, some of you people are concerning with your arguments.
The difference here with raiding is there is no farm dungeons. Only key progression. Although a farm boss in raid can sometimes feel like a chore it’s not something you stress over because you know it’s going down.
A low level dungeon you have stress. New players are an affix in themselves. One bad player can ruin your day. Once you manage to get over the ledge into the higher keys the system is fine.
It’s in my opinion Blizz needs to rethink low keys and how we progress them.
